Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Reposting to the Sr. Director NPI & Engineering for our Data and Communication Business Unit. The Global NPI Cost Modeling Sr. Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive cost models for the connector industry on a global scale. This role requires expertise in cost analysis, financial modeling, and cost management strategies specific to the connector and cable manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will have experience creating detailed cost structures and supporting strategic decision-making across various regions and product lines.


Key Responsibilities:


1.    Cost Modeling Development:
o    Design and develop global cost models for connector and Cable products, including direct materials, labor, overhead, and other relevant cost components.
o    Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to forecast costs and profitability, incorporating factors such as raw material prices, manufacturing processes, and supply chain logistics.


2.    Data Analysis and Validation:
o    Gather and analyze data from multiple sources to ensure the accuracy and reliability of cost models.
o    Validate assumptions and inputs used in cost models through rigorous testing and review.


3.    Cost Management and Optimization:
o    Identify cost drivers and potential areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvements within the connector and cable manufacturing process.
o    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving measures and track their effectiveness.


4.    Financial Reporting and Communication:
o    Prepare and present cost modeling reports and analyses to senior management, highlighting key insights, trends, and recommendations.
o    Communicate complex cost modeling concepts and results to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.


5.    Global Coordination:
o    Coordinate with regional finance teams to ensure consistency and alignment of cost models across different markets and production facilities.
o    Address region-specific cost challenges and tailor models to local requirements and conditions.


6.    Continuous Improvement:
o    Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements related to cost modeling and financial analysis.
o    Continuously refine and improve cost modeling processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Must Have Skills:

•    Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field is required. An advanced degree (MBA, master’s in finance) is preferred.
•    Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in cost modeling, financial analysis, or cost management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in one (or more) Automotive, Electronic hardware, Connectors, Cables, Power tools/appliances, or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
•    Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, cost modeling software). Knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing cost structures.
•    Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated ability to manage and interpret complex financial data.
•    Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
•    Global Perspective: Experience working in a global or multi-national environment, with an understanding of regional cost factors and market dynamics.
•    Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, manage cross-functional projects, and drive strategic initiatives.
