Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Embrace and exemplify as well as overall leadership expectations
• Responsible for conducting product Tear Down engineering / cost analysis
• Communicate results and opportunities of Clean Sheet analysis to Should Cost manager and/or procurement communities.
• Support the creation and execution of gap closure roadmap with Should Cost manager.
• Support negotiations with suppliers using Should Cost tools as analytics expert.
• Support regional projects, Such as “Purchasing Out Of Country”, “Quality Value Engineering”, “Localization”, “Change Of Supplier”, “Make vs. Buy” ….
• Support regional and global initiatives (Supplier Base Optimization, Rebalancing).
• Support capability building initiative to buyers through training, workshop, joint work, etc. Identify and share best practices on analytics and share them with procurement teams.
