Job Overview

This position will serve as the procurement interface for 2 activities: 1) project team member for all sustaining and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects for ICT India and 2) local commodity strategies lead for various suppliers and commodities.  While ICT’s business has been growing in the country, both activities will be split at this time under 1 person.  The selected individual will also be working with other TE business units in India/Asia to drive supplier performance, improvements that impact ICT’s overall business and growth projections. For sustaining & NPI projects, the person will be responsible for following procurement process and structure on sourcing reviews, competitive quoting and analysis, reviewing of commodity strategies and recommending gap closures where applicable. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications


  • Serve as the key procurement interface to the project teams & to commodity needs.
  • As necessary, attend the project meetings (regular and technical) with other specialist departments as a permanent team member
  • Work with project manager from Gate 0 to Gate 6 (LeanPD process) to ensure necessary pricing support from procurement standpoint.
  • Work with project / product management, finance, engineering to address timely quoting needs for the purchased items.
  • Be an active member of procurement team and work with commodity owners to drive enhancements and identify gap to existing commodity strategies as well as actively work with supplier development for successful on-boarding of new suppliers.
  • Develop relationships with key external suppliers/partners as well as internal corporate stakeholders to drive timely sourcing of all purchased
  • Support sourcing activities with sourcing council reviews for supplier selection in cooperation with commodity managers, supplier development and supplier quality
  • Work with commodity owners for leverage opportunity of new projects to drive necessary cost reduction initiatives.
  • Setup and drive product line roadmap reviews with product managers to identify future technology and development plans to align with current supply base and develop gap analysis.


  • Minimum of Bachelors degree (Master preferred) in engineering, supply chain, procurement or  quality.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant commodity leadership or new project support experience
  • Automotive industry experience a plus.
  • Experience with project management software as well as project management understanding
  • Experience in cost breakdown as well as landed cost analysis
  • Practical understanding of basic operational issues (Kanban, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, VA / VE, Lean)
  • Fluency in local languages a must!  Understanding and ability to communicate in English a plus!
  • SAP experience a plus
