Job Overview


TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Job Description:




•    Chase the source of the issues on the numerical unconvergence and find out the resolution on the mechanical FEA simulation having multiple structures interacting. Create the recipes for the optimized meshing, time stepping, convergence criteria, numerical parameters of physical contact properties, and other required simulation parameters on the platform models
•    Build up standard FEA simulation models as the library of Socket hardware (mechanical compression system of LGA Socket). They are for the selected baseline hardware structures. The geometrical structure of the simulation model should be parametrically adjusted by the FEA model user. The simulation models should have FEA engineers, and ideally mechanical engineers, ready to execute the matrix of parametric analysis effectively. The engineers may apply manual adjustments to the FEA models. The models should not be black boxed.   
•    Build up post processing scripts to see the parametric influence to the simulation results holistically. The concerned output reports should be generated semi or fully automatically so that other FEA engineers increases the efficiency significantly
•    Support socket hardware FEA simulation on the new product development when the capacity constraint happens for the engineers in China
•    Join the concept review and design review meeting, provide comments from mechanical simulation perspective
•    Technical support to customer as necessary
•    Study the reason of discrepancy between simulation result and actual test result and generate the guidance to minimize the gap
•    Lead in resolving the simulation issues down to the closure


Qualification and Capability: 


•    ANSYS experience is mandatory. APDL experience is a strong plus
•    If the person does not have APDL experience, the person should have good experiences on writing software or the scripts. The experience in VB, C, C++, Python, or etc. is required
•    Since ANSYS Workbench has been enhancing the capability of building the model by Python, it will be strong plus if the engineer has the capability for Python
•    B.S. degree or above, majored in mechanical engineering or related field.
•    Working experience of mechanical architecture in Sever, Switch is preferred
•    Familiar with metal manufacturing process, like stamping, forging, machining, die-casting, etc.
•    Understand the tolerance analysis logic
•    Mastery of Microsoft Office software and good presentation kill
