Job Overview

The AD&M Engineering Excellence team is seeking an individual with a solid understanding the TE engineering Processes, systems, applications, and workflows.  This individual will provide guidance to the entire global AD&M engineering team with the goal of improving their efficiency, will oversee implementation/training when new Processes and will serve as an expert resource on LEAN PD for our global engineering teams to leverage when they encounter challenges.  It is expected that this individual will use their experience and knowledge of our engineering processes, systems, and procedures to proactively seek ways to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and skill-level of the global AD&M users.  He will be responsible for deploying an effective Knowledge management process across the AD&M. This role will also serve as a liaison between the AD&M engineering teams and other corporate functions for deployment of TE level initiatives. Additionally, they will have the responsibility of representing the interests of AD&M engineering at Advisory Group meetings and continuous improvement workshops to ensure that any upgrades or improvements will not be problematic for the AD&M engineering team.  This position is a great opportunity for someone to transition from a team-focused role to an organizational-level role.

Responsibilities:


•    Proactively seek opportunities for improvement
•    Eliminate unnecessary process steps to improve efficiency and reduce waste
•    Creation of standards/specifications that ensure consistency across the global team
•    Develop Knowledge management Process including training material and quick-reference-guides.
•    Be a strong advocate for Disciplined execution, Speed & Agility.
•    Would be responsible for deploying DFSS methodology in Product design process & training other engineers in DFSS.
•    Participate in Projects which call for changes in LEAN PD process.
•    Interface with other functions such as PMO & TEIS to ensure system fixes/enhancements are addressed in a timely manner.
•    Communicate regularly with the engineering teams on the status changes and new applications
•    Migrations from existing process to new process.
 

Desired Candidate Profile:

•    Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or related field is preferred.
•    10+ years of work experience in engineering, or in support of engineering functions.
•    Experienced in using LEAN PD process for Product design using various CAD & PLM software.
•    General understanding of all aspects of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process from creation of part numbers through product maturity and eventual obsolescence.
•    DFSS GB Certified / BB Preferred.
•    Ability to effectively engage and communicate with global engineering teams.
•    A passion for improving engineering efficiency by reducing wasted in our engineering processes
•    Ability to serve as an advocate for engineering when interfacing with IT, Advisory Groups, Tiger Teams, etc….
