Job Overview

The Sr. R&D Product development Engineer is part of Product development team responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing tooling systems and automated processes for cable and connector manufacturing as well as catheter development. This role combines mechanical engineering expertise with automation technologies to enhance production efficiency, quality, and scalability.

Job Requirements

    • Design and develop precision tooling for cable assembly and connector manufacturing processes
    • Create tooling specifications, drawings, and documentation using CAD software
    • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize tool performance and lifecycle
    • Conduct tool trials, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify automation opportunities
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
    • Conduct feasibility studies for new tooling and automation projects
    • Establish process parameters and quality control measures
    • Lead cross-functional teams for tooling and automation projects
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for tooling procurement and development
    • Present project updates and recommendations to senior management
    • Collaborate for preparing strategic plan and help achieve critical milestones.

     

What your background should look like

 

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of robotics programming and integration
  • Understanding of vision systems and sensor technologies
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and quality methodologies
  • PCB & Fine wire termination methodologies

EDUCATION & CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in tooling engineering and automation
  • Proven experience in cable and connector manufacturing preferred
  • Strong background in precision tooling design and development
