Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
What your background should look like:

Advanced Manufacturing Development Engineer: Identify and Establishing new process / manufacturing technologies to enhance productivity and to be competitive in market.


  • Support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes.
  • Design, develop and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards,
  • Document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems,
  • Support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability,
  • Initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time,
  • Adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
  • Supply the quick turn capabilities needed for prototypes and customer samples.
  • Build tooling for verification of products and processes.
  • Arrive at cost effective solutions by supporting Six Sigma process through simultaneous engineering teams.
  • Complete rigorous Statistical DOE’s for problem solving or tool and process approval prior to transferring to operations.
  • Apply extensive knowledge to the design, build and procurement of assembly tooling
  • Resolving tool and design problems as related to assembly of components
  • Suggest design change of new products to reduce costs and overall manufacturing efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with development engineering and vendors
  • Arrive at cost effective solutions by supporting Lean Design for Six Sigma
  • Desire to utilize and function with a global team environment


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree
  • GB or BB in Six Sigma Process
  • Be capable of estimating process costs based on non-production drawings
  • Must be familiar with our core competencies such as stamping, metal machining, molding and die casting
  • Experience in adhesives and bonding is a plus
  • Must be familiar with DFMEA and PFMEA process
  • Ability to use Microsoft Project, Excel and Minitab
  • Fluent English and French
  • Must be able to work in hands-on environment
  • Must have good time management skills to work on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Must have good written and oral skills as they will be required to interface with team members, customers and sales


  • 5 to 7 years of experience with a minimum of 3 years in Manufacturing field stamping, metal machining, molding and die casting.
