Job Overview

R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER will be responsible for the Design and Development of RFoF System for Aerospace, defense & marine market requirements. He/She will work with Product management and Marketing team to develop RFoF Products by translating a customer requirement into a Product requirement, work through the Development cycle including Testing, Approval and Release into Production. He/She is responsible to drive both Global & Local RFoF Development programs.  

Responsibilities:

  • Drive RFoF product development for global & local development programs
  • Work on New Product Development (NPD) following Gate process & Product development process
  • Responsible for developing the test plan and testing of the components
  • Co-ordinate with internal & external vendors/ test facilities for testing & qualification of the product
  • Responsible for meeting the On-time delivery and First Pass Yield design documents, products, sketches, ATP, QTP, test documentation, test estimation, work with approving agencies to get the product qualified
  • Co-ordinate with Business Development team to define and develop new proposals/ new product opportunities and give technical insights on the project
  • Mentor the new team members on design and development of RFoF processes
  • Ensure on time delivery and first-time right approach in all the project deliverables.
  • Work with local and global counterpart / stake holder for ensuring quality deliverable and project execution.

Work closely with third party vendor / supplier to define the technical requirements for the product and project execution

Candidate Desired Profile:

Education/ Knowledge:

  • BE/BTech/MTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering/Optical communication with specialization in Fiber Optics or Photonics design
  • Min 5 years of experience in design and development of fiber optics transceivers or RFoF systems 

Critical experience:

  • Experience in Design and Development of RF over Fiber Optics transmitter and receiver modules
  • Experience in designing fiber optics links utilizing laser diode-based modulators, LED, Photodiodes, Optical multiplexer/Demultiplexer/ Splitters, SFP, EDFA, Fiber optics cables and high-speed electronics  
  • Hands-on with design using DWDM, CWDM techniques, SMF and NZDSF design.
  • Knowledge of Fiber optics cables and its interfacing, terminations, loss calculations.
  • Experience in system analysis and link budgets for optical & RF transceivers
  • Experience in integration of optical convertors into RF circuits and equipment
  • Familiarity with hardware design and development including RF and electronics circuit design with TTL/ LVDS / LVTTL  interfaces
  • Knowledge of full product design lifecycle, from concept to production
  • Knowledge and experience in system simulation and analysis tools like Optisystem, OptiGrating etc.
  • Experience in block level design, schematic capture, optical architecture and familiarity with PCB layout
  • Familiarity with standard test equipment such as Optical Spectrum Analyzer, OTDR, Optical Power meter, oscilloscopes, power meters, logic analyzers, signal/spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Experience working in a team environment and ability to partner across organizations and programs

What your background should look like

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field or local equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional level experience
