BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION 
TE AD&M BU designs connectivity solutions for various levels to meet the demands of Aerospace, Defense and Space requirements.   


JOB OVERVIEW 
TE Connectivity’s R&D Product Engineering II works on Design, development, testing of the Connectors product line
Works with customer to translate customer VOC to Product requirement documents, derive CTQs critical to functioning of the product and establish designs using DFSS tools and methodology, use 6 phase design gates for design, develop and to qualify the product, Work with customer, vendor, supply chain and operations during project execution.  

Responsibilities:

•     Perform activities concerned with design, development & testing of electro mechanical components  / products / systems for Aerospace & Defense markets.   
•     Conceives original ideas for new products and ability to develop them into practical and economical  models. Define specifications, perform engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and prove concept in prototypes and testing.   
•     Work closely with the Global Engineering team in design of new product for global customers by  meeting timelines and providing innovative solutions.  
•     Work closely with the cross functionals teams to develop & execute the new product development   
•     Keep abreast of new technologies, materials and processes and use the information to initiate cost saving or product enhancing projects.  
•     Contribute to achieving departmental targets – specifically ‘Delivery on Time’ targets for  development and sustaining activities.  
•     Carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Engineering  Manager.  
•     Observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government  legislation.  

Desired Candidate Profile:

•    Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or similar with 5-8 years of work experience 
•     5+ year’s work experience in New Product Development in Aerospace, Automotive or Industrial Domain Industries or similar
•     Experience in design tools such as GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, and Tolerance Stack-ups.  
•     Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes like Molding, Stamping, Plating, other Metal Forming and plastic miniaturing processes. Added advantage would be good knowledge in additive manufacturing process.  
•     Experience in Product Design involving Plastic and Sheet Metal parts.  
•     Experience in Global Certifications and Regulatory Standards (EN, MIL etc.)   
•     Knowledge of statistical process control methodology, six sigma is an advantage.  
•     Experience in Product testing & Qualification.  
•     Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to learn new Technologies.  
•     Exposure & Knowledge on Electrical system design will be added advantage  
•     Experience in Creo/Solidworks software.   
•     Good Knowledge in PDM windchill & PLM software.
