Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  1. Act as the “GM” for the project to ensure that the project meets the design requirements and contractual obligations for TE.
  2. Proactively own the business case and the P&L for the project. Ensure data accuracy of the P&L, including forecasts, by appropriately challenging stakeholders during initiation to closure of project.
  3. Provide tactical leadership over the project:
    • Initiate the prject – undertake processes to define the new project or a new phase of an existing project by obtaining the appropriate authorization. Understand all requirements of both TE and the customer before the project is started.
    • Plan – undertake prcesses to establish the scope of the project, refine the objectives and define the course of action required to attain the design requirements and contractual obligations for TE. Estimate phase times and ensure appropriate resources are available to achieve project goals.
    • Execute – undertake prcesses to complete the work defined in the project management plan in order to satisfy project specifications.
    • Mnitor and Control – undertake processes to track, review and regulate the progress and performance of the project. Identify any areas in which changes to the plan are required and initiate the corresponding corrective actions. Exert appropriate level of control over the project to ensure that deadlines and deliverables are met according to the project plan. Proactively manage project to prevent delays to the schedule or budget overruns.
    • Clse – undertake processes to finalize all activities across the project team and with Stakeholders to formally close the project or phase and transfer the completed product to operations or to close a cancelled project.
  4. Actively identify and manage risks associated with the project to ensure that the risks are either prevented or mitigated. Ensure that long-term liabilities are considered and managed.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Must have minimum bachelor’s engineering degree in one of the academic discipline’s mechanics, electrical or electronics or industrial engineering
  • Minimum of three years professional engineering and project management experiences
  • Needs a professional level of business acumen and a good commercial understanding
  • Must have demonstrated successful experiences in project management
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills. Fluent English language skills a must.
  • Experience in Product Design involving Plastic and Sheet Metal parts.
  • PMP Certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of six sigma tools will be added advantage. 
  • Optimally has a good understanding of TE Connectivity technologies and the markets they serve.
