Job Overview

The Digital Data Networks business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for a Global Product Manager for the Micro Markets product team.
The Global Product Manager will have responsibility for a portfolio of connector products and manages all aspects from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They act as a “mini” GM driving the overall product strategy, business leadership, and capacity plans to achieve revenue and gross margin targets that enable long-term competitiveness and success of the product line. This individual will develop and implement strategies for business growth through portfolio expansion (NPIs), solution selling in targeted/focused application groups, and targeted GTM efforts.


This role requires strong strategic thinking and experience working across regions. This role must closely collaborate with colleagues in Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to gain cross functional alignment and drive the successful execution of the product roadmap.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Market Sensing & Strategy Development:


•    Research market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and competitive landscape; Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking
•    Design go-to-market strategy, inclusive of channel strategy and partnerships
•    Work with R&D / Ops to develop new products that meets current & future customer needs
•    Manage the product lifecycle

 

Develop Business Plan:


•    Define resource requirements necessary to execute the product roadmap
•    Work cross functionally to define sales, technology and operations strategies and goals, in line with financial goals; build consensus on specific tasks
•    Establish pricing policy


 
Execution – New Product Development & Launch:


•    Create new projects for the product and collaborate with the project management team to launch the product with quality/timing/cost targets achieved
•    Plan product launches, including the development of marketing and sales plans
•    Provide inputs to Marcom for the development of collateral, including e-commerce

 

Execution – Post Launch Product Management:


•    Manage the P&L (sales and gross or standard margin) for the assigned portfolio and deliver sustained profitable growth 
•    Enable sales to promote product line via training and the development of collateral materials that help articulate the value proposition
•    Be the champion for resolution of product issues (e.g., quality, delivery, etc.)
 

Qualifications:

•    2+ years of product management, sales, or other relevant experience
•    4-year technical or business degree required
•    Relevant product or industry experience desired
•    Advanced degree (MBA) or relevant P&L management experience preferred

•    Strong business acumen with an ability to understand technically complex concepts
•    Creative and innovative thinker able to provide input on the development of the product strategies and the relevant business plans with the ability to execute
•    Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and drive results
•    Strong interpersonal, planning, and teamwork skills; good understanding of cross-region culture 
•    Ability to influence cross functional teams and build strong relationships 
•    Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts
