Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D Product Engineering II works on Development and validating the optimized program for components under development for new product Design, development of the machined components.
Work with engineering team to validate the design, and use DFSS methodologies to valuate design for manufacturability (DFM) feasibility of the product. Knowledge on DFMEA and secondary process of operations related to machining & advanced manufacturing processes, should be well versed with design phases used in product design lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Development of optimized CNC program for New product. Perform activities concerned with validation of the design, and use DFSS methodologies to valuate design for manufacturability feasibility of the product Good knowledge on programing and handling Vertical Mills & CNC turning.
- Reviewing of PFMEA, PPAPs, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in all manufacturing at design and validation stages of the product development lifecycle, from conceptualizing new product ideas, developing engineering designs, prototyping, supporting production and rolling out new and improved products.
- Setup and fixturing requirements study, design and implementation as required from time to time on various projects
- Work closely with the cross functionals teams to develop & execute new product development
- Keep abreast of new technologies, materials and processes and use the information to initiate cost saving or product enhancing projects.
- Contribute to achieving departmental targets – specifically ‘Delivery on Time’ , Quality, dimensional accuracy, targets for development and sustaining products.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Engineering Manager.
- Observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.
Education and Critical Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or similar with 5-8 years of work experience
• 6+ year’s work experience in Development and proving out of optimized CNC program for New product Development in Aerospace, Automotive or Industrial.
- Experience in handling 5Axis, mill-turn and turn-mill.
• Experience in design tools such as GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, and Tolerance Stack-ups.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes like machining, plating, secondary process.
• Experience in Global Certifications and Regulatory Standards (EN, MIL etc.)
• Knowledge of statistical process control methodology, six sigma is an advantage.
• Experience in Product testing & Qualification.
• Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to learn new Technologies.
• Exposure & Knowledge on Electrical system design will be added advantage
• Experience in Creo/Solidworks software.
• Good Knowledge in PDM windchill & PLM software.
