Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Responsibilities

 

  • Play a pivotal role in supporting the design and analysis team supporting ruggedized high speed connector products and related accessories for the harsh environments found in Aerospace & Defense applications
  • This position will have a heavy emphasis on signal integrity connector design.
  • Will be on the front end of new programs and future technologies to drive customer engagement with TE 
  • Support a team that develops product concepts that range from miniature connectors, high speed signal connectors and high amperage / voltage power connectors
  • Proficient in digital tools like ANSYS HFSS & Spaceclaim, Altium Designer and 3D modeling, to create concepts and simulate product performance before the manufacturing and validation testing of product
  • Will work in a multidisciplinary project team to develop a plan for each product / project and execute the strategy for product development to help grow the AD&M business using product technology roadmaps from the business office, customer specifications and robust VoC (Voice of the Customer)
  • Work closely with the Global Engineering team in the design of new product for global customers by meeting timelines and providing innovative solutions
  • Contribute to achieving departmental targets – specifically “Delivery on Time” targets for development and sustaining activities

Education and Experience

 

  •  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering from accredited university with 5 –
  • 8 years of related work experience
  • Experience in signal integrity design, simulation, and validation activities through product
  • development cycles for 112G speeds.
  • Experience to shorten development times to be fast and flexible to the market.
  • Proven ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, make risk
  • management, decisions and solve problems independently with a high degree of initiative.
  • Distinctive leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Creating project task frameworks dealing with task durations/sequence for resource capacity
  • loading and managing department budgets
  • Strong analytical skills with permanent focus on customer and product requirements,
  • customer focused, building strong relationships.
  • Establishing signal integrity design performance/functional requirements for new products.
  • Experience performing signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards on each product. 
  • This includes determining the correct simulation methodology and setup to use, aswell as a good understanding of the criteria for each interface.Understanding PCB design schematic and layout reviews.

  • Experience with interconnect design or experience with connector and/or cable/cable assembly design.
  • Signal integrity analysis tools (Agilent ADS, Ansys HFSS).
  • Experience with Signal Integrity testing and verifications tools, PNA and TDR.
  • Experience in CAD tools such as Ansys Spaceclaim and expertise in PCB design using Altium.
  • Knowledge on PLM tools, design release process and PCB lifecycle management
  • An understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior.
  • Ability to work with an experienced team to interpret simulation and lab data to identify issues and provide solutions to fix identified problem. Six Sigma methodologies or other strong data analytics background a PLUS.
  • Exposure to Additive Manufacturing / Rapid Prototyping technologies and 3D modeling, direct or parametric.Product Engineering experience (sustaining) working with quality, manufacturing, operations, suppliers, and directly with customers Conversion of legacy design to Altium formats.
