JOB OVERVIEW

 

We are looking for a detail-oriented Product Engineer to own and govern Digital Engineering activities and maintain product data in our ERP/PLM system focusing on Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, Item Masters, Drawings and Product Classification. This role will partner closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Compliance and Operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and release-ready product data throughout the lifecycle — from NPI through ECR/ECN and Sustaining Engineering.

They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality of the data while meeting operation requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific business requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of 3D model and drawings as per Industrial standards, Product data management using PDMlink & CPR.
  • Execute ECR/ECN workflows coordinate stakeholder approvals; ensure clear implementation of changes with tracking.
  • Create, validate, and maintain Item Masters, BOMs (multi-level), Alternates/Substitutes, Effectivity Dates, and Engineering/Manufacturing views in the ERP.
  • Build and optimize Routings/Operations including work centers, operation sequences, standard times, queues, and resources; ensure alignment with manufacturing methods.
  • Perform BOM audits, where-used impacts, and mass updates with accuracy and traceability.
  • Build and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and data dictionaries and support compliance.
  • Partner with Product Engineering, manufacturing engineering and production for structure definition, lead times and cost upload.
  • Collaborate with Quality to link product specifications/test methods and ensure traceability is maintained.
  • Build data quality reports (missing attributes, obsolete parts, missing reference etc) and KPI dashboards.
  • Liaise with various systems like PDMlink, CPR and SAP for data integrity & lead data migrations / alignment between systems.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives using TEOA / Digital methodologies.
  • Should be able to interact with global stakeholders (PM/Engineering etc.) and communicate technical details efficiently.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Polymer science / Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 2-4 years of professional experience
  • Hands-on experience with ERP product data (BOMs, Routings, Item Master, Classification).
  • Hands on CAD and drawing experiences with Creo
  • Hands-on experience in Product data Management, ECR & Product life cycle management.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods like Molding, Extrusion, Machining, Plating and Assembly and how they map into routings/operations.
  • Experience in ERP platform like in SAP, Netsuite, Emax or similar.
  • Exposure to PLM tools like Teamcenter, Windchill or similar
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings (GD&T basics), BOM structures, and where-used analysis
  • Demonstrate understanding of new product development cycles
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate, negotiate and drive results 
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, with the ability to prioritize, set and achieve goals and drive results.
