Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

What your background should look like:


    15+ years of related Engineering experience, Connectors/Cable assembly experience highly preferred
    Minimum 3 years management experience, with technical leadership skills for problem solving and conflict resolution
    Experience in Connectors/Cable assembly is highly preferred
    History of driving results with strong leadership skills, drive, and a willingness to roll up his/her sleeves to get the job done.
    Excellent motivational skills: a person with the ability to set goals and inspire trust and confidence in team members to achieve the highest standards of performance in a dynamic fast paced environment, while maintaining a high level of expertise throughout the team.
    Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables and influence teams to successfully deliver on commitments to the business and customers
    Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives.
    Proven ability to build, train and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in a global technology industry
    Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders and technology leaders to create value.
    Must have good organization, supervisory, managerial and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers and technical staff
    Individual must be a self-starter that requires minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing priorities
    Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and motivational skills with the ability to build strong, credible relationships across multiple organization functions (inside and outside of TE)
    Clear, strategic thinker with the ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems.
    Excellent judgment, timely and high-quality decision-making skills
    Global experience. Skilled leader in communicating across a global organization with international teams, and excellent at working within different cultures.
