Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Project Management Teams are responsible for managing the operational aspects of projects from inception through implementation. They coordinate cross-functional teams and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project teams and line management. Our Teams review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports. They assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Manager, Project Management will drive following activities across the entire BU
•    Innovation within the India Engineering Hub across all sub-business units (Sub-verticals)
•    Continuous improvement initiatives, i.e. integration of Lean techniques into the Product-Development process
In addition, the successful candidate will drive various strategic projects across the Engineering function according to the technology strategy of the Business Unit. 
This position is seen as a feeder role to the Subvertical Engineering Management, both in India Engineering Hub and globally. It reports to the Director Engineering, Industrial Engineering Hub in Bangalore.


•    Supports Regional leadership and contributes to the definition of the clear technology portfolio with the overall BU portfolio strategy 
•    Be a strong technical partner and provide support to Product management teams. Attend/support customer meetings and technology days .
•    Develop high performance solutions and platforms for our customers that maintain TE’s leadership position different markets
•    Achieves results by implementing a rigorous development and project-management process 
•    Monitor all business-critical engineering metrics with regular reports to management to show progress toward monthly/quarterly/annual goals.
•    Closely works with Product Management, Operations, and Sales to ensure flawless execution of the product development
•    Drives Innovation and ideation within the team and represents the BUs in such initiatives in the region
•    Embraces the Continuing Improvement paradigm and drives YoY engineering productivity by continuously eliminating waste, improving team’s focus and prioritization.
•    Improves customer intimacy of the team. Partners effectively with the sales organization to drive the VoC and the ability of the team to develop the right offering to the customer
•    Empower team to grow and achieve results through supported development and coaching.
•    Successfully facilitate transfer and support of new product introduction (NPI) into high volume manufacturing.
•    Build future engineering capabilities and reward outstanding performance.
•    Communicates across the IND BU and manages all stakeholders including other BUs and functions 
•    Model and foster TE core values and behaviours


•    Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
•    12+ years of related Engineering experience with 5+ years in managing teams.
•    Professional experience within industrial markets and knowledgeable regarding respective customers and engineering requirements
Ideally experienced in electrical connectivity solutions, connector technologies, relays, terminal blocks, or an adjacent industry that has structured compliance regulations (UL, CE etc.)
•    Technical skills in developing products for Industrial market applications, plastic/rubber processing, metal processing, electro-mechanical design preferred. Knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards desirable
•    Systems thinker understanding that a combination of parts is larger than a simple sum of parts including consideration of the value stack.
•    Familiarity with engineering tools (LDFSS or DMAIC), processes and risk assessment methods (eg FMEA, DOE) and other relevant engineering process methodologies 
•    Excellent motivational skills: a person with the ability to set goals and inspire trust and confidence in team members to achieve the highest standards of performance in a dynamic fast paced environment, while maintaining a high level of expertise throughout the team.
•    Excellent judgment, timely and high-quality decision-making skills
•    Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build strong, credible relationships across multiple organization functions (inside and outside of TE)
•    Clear, strategic thinker with the ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems
•    Strong practical experience with various development lifecycles, methodologies, and practices (Traditional, Kanban, Agile). 
•    Formal project management (e.g. PMI) and/or Agile certifications (e.g. SAFe SPC) are highly desirable
•    Lean Expert certification is a plus

•    Global experience. Skilled leader in communicating across a global organization with international teams, and excellent at working within different cultures
•    Proven experience working in global matrix environment
•    Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables and influence teams to successfully deliver on commitments to the business and customers
•    Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives
•    Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders and technology leaders to create value
