Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Job Profile
As Product Engineering Manager, you will be key member of the team that is responsible to set up the engineering centre, recruit and develop people and operationalize the engineering center in accordance with the TE systems.
The general responsibilities include driving innovation around new product development and sustaining for our Medical business, focused on dynamic products. To work closely with global teams and continue to develop advanced skills on mechanical engineering, design for manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management and lean manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
• Integrating existing TE systems into the Medical Business. Ensuring best practice regarding use of and adoption of engineering processes and tools to allow efficient delivery of projects and support of existing products
• Ensuring the engineering team implements and operates within the Medical defined procedures
• Provide Technical and Project Leadership on Development Projects within the Medical Group. Manage and execute project deliverables and outputs.
• Establishing and maintaining engineering resource requirements to deliver development project requirements
• Work as part of team presenting opportunities to prospective customers.
• Work with customers towards achieving their development goals, provide technical and project leadership to these customers.
• Lead the project and customer communication with periodical formal and informal reviews and requirements.
• Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators to show compliance plus trends for quality, cost, time and performance
• Working closely with the global project management team to manage project prioritization and resource allocation needs
• Coordinating and managing customer complaints, direct / indirect customer support and reaction
• General development and management of engineering & engineering support teams, to include and assist with recruitment, technical skills requirements, appraisals, succession planning, team building, compensation reviews, career development and training.
• Ensuring teams work collaboratively with all other business functions
• Maintaining regular communication with the groups Global Engineering Lead and Senior Management Team
What your background should look like:
• BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical), M Tech (Mechanical/Electrical is preferred)
• More than 14+year experience related to new product development and sustenance
• Knowledge about various phases of product realization and product development
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art design tools such as 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD), modelling, Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T), electrical & electronic design and Simulation
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, QMS, CAPA, GDP, GMP will be preferred
• Experience in Medical / Healthcare domain will be an advantage.
Critical Experience:
• Extensive transnational working experience to leverage partnering with TE competency centers and using TE processes to bring Medical Device capability into India
• Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), design for cost (DFC)
• Strong people management experience.
• Global-local stakeholder alignment: Developing relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers both locally & globally
