Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

The Electronic and Sensor Integration Team Manager will report to the product development team for cold applied products, part of Energy Business unit. S/he will lead & be responsible for managing a team working on new product development (NPD), value analysis and value engineering (VA/VE) and sustaining projects as well as perform management duties. This role will require strong leadership skills and demonstrated product development experience in a global technology company to drive success for the Energy BU by leading his/her team to develop best-in-class engineering solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities:

•    Manage and drive the Electronic and Sensor Integration Team
•    Demonstrate technical leadership. Provide technical solutions and break through ideas.
•    Guide the development of complex electronic systems, including analog and digital circuits
•    Oversee the implementation of emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, and machine learning in electronic products
•    Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IPC) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCC, CE)
•    Perform resource planning and prioritization for required activities
•    Accountable for delivering NPD projects on-time and on-budget
•    Collaborate with product managers, mechanical teams, software developers, and system architects to integrate electronics into end products.
•    Successfully facilitate transfer and support of new product introduction (NPI) into high volume manufacturing
•    Participate in design reviews & project reviews
•    Support product compliance and approvals for new products and platforms
•    Empower team to grow and achieve results through supported development and coaching. 
•    Be a strong technical partner and provide support to product management teams.
•    Model and foster TE core values and behaviors

 

Desired Candidate Profile:

•    Graduate or postgraduate (BE or M.Tech) in Electronics engineering or related engineering discipline
•    12+ years of engineering experience and with more than 5 years of experience in supervising and leading engineering team
•    Experience in developing and industrializing electronic and sensor products, preferably associated with Energy market
•    Excellent in people and resource management
•    Strong understanding of analog/digital electronics, signal conditioning, and sensor communication protocols.
•    Proven track record in sensor deployment for industrial, renewable, or power systems (e.g., temperature, pressure, flow, vibration, current, voltage).
•    Experience with embedded systems, PCB
design, and system-level integration.
•    Familiarity with energy systems, including power electronics, renewable energy systems, grid interfaces, or smart metering.
•    Familiarity with IoT platforms and cloud-based sensor data acquisition
