Job Overview

The Global Inventory Manager owns the end-to-end inventory management process across TE Connectivity's Automotive business. This role is responsible for defining and governing global inventory strategies, policies, and operating standards that optimize inventory investment, improve working capital and cash flow, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and maintain high customer service levels. The position partners closely with Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Product Management, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and Sales teams to drive global alignment, consistent execution, and sustainable business performance across regions.

Roles & Responsibility:

1. Lead Global Inventory Governance & Strategy

  • Develop and own the global inventory management framework, policies, standards, and governance routines.
  • Establish review cadences and performance management processes to drive inventory optimization and business results.

2. Optimize Inventory, Working Capital & Service Performance

  • Drive initiatives focused on inventory turns, Days on Hand (DOH), excess and obsolete (E&O) reduction, and cash flow improvement.
  • Balance inventory investment with customer service and operational requirements.

3. Own Planning Parameters & Stocking Policies

  • Govern safety stock, MOQ, lead times, lot sizing, inventory policies, and planning parameters globally.
  • Define decision-making frameworks for inventory trade-offs, service levels, and supply risks.

4. Influence Global Cross-Functional Stakeholders

  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Product Management, Operations, Finance, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Sales teams.
  • Drive alignment and execution of global inventory strategies without direct authority.

5. Drive Analytics, Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish common inventory KPIs, dashboards, performance reviews, and root-cause analysis processes.
  • Lead global inventory transformation initiatives, process standardization, and capability development across regions.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Extensive Supply Chain & Inventory Leadership Experience

  • 8-15+ years of experience in Inventory Management, Supply Planning, Materials Management, S&OP/IBP, or related Supply Chain functions.
  • Proven success leading global or multi-regional inventory transformation programs.

2. Deep Inventory Optimization Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of inventory policies, safety stock optimization, MOQ governance, working capital management, inventory health, and E&O reduction.

3. Strategic & Data-Driven Thinker

  • Ability to leverage analytics, business insights, and supply chain data to drive fact-based decisions and executive recommendations.

4. Exceptional Stakeholder Management Skills

  • Demonstrated capability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional teams in a complex global matrix environment.

5. Strong Transformation & Process Governance Background

  • Experience designing and deploying global processes, governance models, operating standards, and continuous improvement initiatives utilizing SAP/S4HANA, IBP, or similar planning platforms.
