Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Senior Engineering Manager, Energy, will report to the Global Engineering Manager Insulation & Protection Products and will lead the India based Engineering Services Organization for Energy Division. This role will require strong leadership skills and demonstrated product development experience in a global technology company to drive success for the Energy BU by leading his/her team to develop best-in-class engineering solutions for our customers.


•    Build and provide leadership to an engineering team with responsibility for a wide variety of product development and sustaining activities for Energy Business Unit.
•    Develop high performance solutions and platforms for our customers that maintain TE’s leadership position in the Energy market
•    Perform resource planning and prioritization for required activities and work with Engineering Centre of Competency leaders on resource requirements, hiring, future planning on sustaining and other engineering activities. 
•    Establish & monitor budgets for all responsible activities.
•    Drive profitability by identifying and executing on cost optimization/reduction (VA/VE) opportunities for the business.
•    Be a strong technical partner and provide support to Product management teams. Attend/support customer meetings, technology days and site visits as required.
•    Support product compliance and approvals for all new products and platforms as required by our customers.
•    Monitor all business-critical engineering metrics with regular reports to management to show progress toward monthly/quarterly/annual goals.
•    Successfully facilitate transfer and support of new product introduction (NPI) into high volume manufacturing.
•    Empower team to grow and achieve results through supported development and coaching.
•    Build future engineering capabilities and reward outstanding performance.
•    Model and foster TE core values and behaviors

Qualification & Critical Experience


•    Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in mechanical, electrical, electronics or related engineering discipline.
•    15+ years of related Engineering experience
•    Global experience. Skilled leader in communicating across a global organization with international teams, and excellent at working within different cultures.
•    Experience in developing products for Energy market applications, plastic/rubber processing, metal processing, electronic design or software preferred
•    Familiarity with engineering tools (LDFSS or DMAIC), processes and risk assessment methods (eg FMEA, DOE) and other relevant engineering process methodologies


•    Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables and influence teams to successfully deliver on commitments to the business and customers
•    Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives.
•    Proven ability to build, train and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in a global technology industry
•    History of driving results with strong leadership skills, drive, and a willingness to roll up his/her sleeves to get the job done.
•    Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders and technology leaders to create value.
•    Multi-disciplinary background and record of innovative new product design
•    Individual must be a self-starter that requires minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing priorities
