Job Overview

TE Connectivity is offering a Configuration Librarian position within its globally acting ITSM Solutions team starting November/December 2020. We are operating a CMDB with several thousands of managed Configuration Items published by ServiceNow Discovery and Microsoft SCCM.
As a Configuration Librarian you will be the custodian and guardian of all master copies of Configuration Items (CIs) registered with Configuration Management in TE’s Enterprise CMDB. Primarily you will act within an administration role, focused on ensuring accurate and timely availability of CI information for operational use. You will collaborate tightly with the other Configuration Librarians and the Configuration Manager as well as with the other members of the ITSM Solutions team and the stakeholders of the Configuration management process within a global environment.

Specifically, you take on: 

  • Maintaining the status and not discoverable information’s on CIs
  • Adding and maintaining Business Service CI’s with their dependencies
  • Controlling the receipt, identification, storage, and withdrawal of all supported CIs
  • Performing Quick Discoveries and is starting the troubleshooting (level-1) in case of Discovery issues
  • Providing information on the status of CIs
  • Assisting the Configuration Manager to prepare a Configuration Management Plan
  • Accepts and records the receipt of new or revised configurations into the appropriate library
  • Archives superseded CI’s
  • Notifying owners of any changes to their CI’s in case they are not involved in the process
  • Collecting and retaining information that will assist in the assessment of what CIs are impacted by a Change to a CI
  • Identifying and reporting unauthorized changes to the Change Manager
  • Assisting in conducting monthly CMDB audits
  • Liaises with other databases where CIs are common to other systems.
What your background should look like:

Competencies & Experience Required/Desired:  
•    Certified ServiceNow Administrator or appropriate, verifiable job experience in ServiceNow
•    Profound knowledge on ITSM and Configuration Management processes defined by ITIL
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills - high standard of accuracy
•    High level of PC literacy – including MS Office and standard Windows console commands


Good experience with the following technologies/tools/processes:
a.    ServiceNow (Platform, ITSM, CMDB, Discovery)
b.    ITIL Foundations (Edition 4 - ITIL practices - service management practices)

Educational Required/Desired:  
-    Education in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required or appropriate job experience. 
-    Proficient written and verbal communications skills in English (CEFR C1). Additional language(s) are welcome.
-    High capacity for autonomous work with accurate reporting and feedback to manager.
