We are building a world class advanced analytics team that will solve some of the most complex strategic problems and deliver topline growth and operational efficiencies across our business The Analytics team at TE is part of the TE Information Solutions (TEIS) Organization and is responsible for driving organic growth by leveraging big data and advanced analytics. The team reports to the Chief Data Officer at TEIS, works closely with the SVP of Corporate Strategy, and has regular interactions with the company’s C-Suite. 
We are on an exciting journey to build and scale our advanced analytics practice. TE is looking for a Cloud Database Administrator who can lead and deliver complete database design, development, deployment, and support for actionable BI and Advanced Analytics solutions. This role participates in the implementation of AWS components to form a data lake, and implement processes to extract, load and transform unstructured and structured data from the raw to the purpose build Database layer. 
You will be responsible for requirements analysis, design, and implementation of database solutions in on-premise and cloud environments. You will work closely with project managers, vendor partners, business unit representatives, project sponsors and Segment CIO teams to deliver the solutions.  You are expected to communicate project status, issues and change control to all levels of management. 

Primary Responsibilities

•    Assist in the overall planning for the future direction of database software in support of the Enterprise mission and goals
•    Guide Database engineering strategy from a management perspective with an operational background
•    Provide standards, procedures, and guidelines for the effective and secure use of the databases and database features
•    Monitor and maintain production and non-production database and Datawarehouse environments
•    Provide database backup and recovery services including recurring verification of backups
•    Installation, upgrades, and maintenance of enterprise database software including but not limited to Redshift, Aurora, Oracle, MS SQL Server, etc.
•    Monitor and maintain the security of the databases and database software (with other groups)
•    Provide migration services to oversee changes to the production environments
•    24-hour production problem support including review and resolution of database related log and monitoring messages
•    Create and maintain physical database structures including 
•    Maintain personal, proprietary and/or confidential data in the strictest confidence and follows procedures to ensure the privacy, security, and proper use of data
•    Perform application database design assessments with technical Product Owners to build and deploy complex database solutions that meet business needs
•    Mentor team members with database functionality and provides guidelines and solutions on performance tuning techniques and industry best practices.
•    Participation on Agile/Scrum activities
•    Partner with and evaluate external vendor offerings to help enhance the database service to better meet business needs and align to those strategies.

You Must Have:

•    5+ years of experience in data modeling and data warehousing 
•    3+ experience in AWS Redshift, RDS, Aurora services
•    3+ years of experience in implementing complex data storage architectures on both cloud and on-prem environments, handling both structured and unstructured data 
•    Very good understanding of data models and design patterns in data warehouses
•    Experience with Star schema and Snowflake modelling
•    Experience with other data platform implementations like Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL
•    Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
•    Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
•    Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently, and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment and decision-making.
•    Flexibility to work occasional hours outside normal business, according to business needs
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
