Job Overview

TE SubCom seeks a Submersibles Support Technician for the Baltimore, MD location. The Support Technician will provide technical, administrative and logistical support to TE SubCom’s fleet of subsea cable trenching Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and Sea Plow systems. The person will be directly reporting to SubCom's Senior Submersibles Managers in order to provide assistance in facilitating fleetwide equipment operational readiness. Candidate will be expected to handle a very dynamic workload, have multitasking abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
• Interface with vendors and OEM’s to provide technical support to submersibles fleet.
• Review purchase requisitions developed by submersible supervisors, organize quotes and raise purchase request.
• Research alternate low cost suppliers for consumables, spare parts, subsea equipment OEM’s and repair facilities.
• Responsible for supplier & vendor follow-up on all purchase orders and equipment repairs.
• Inventory & spares management of submersibles depot stock.
• Logistic support to include: packaging, shipping, tracking and receiving of submersible equipment and support gear.
• Provide support for mobilization and de-mobilization of submersible systems in Baltimore.
• Some global travel will be expected (<20%) in order to gain hands on experience and practical knowledge of TE SubCom ROV and Sea Plow systems.

 Qualifications
• Preferred applicants will possess technical certification or 2 year degree in one of the following disciplines: electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, electronic or computer related fields OR have a minimum of 1-2 years hands on experience in one the above disciplines.
• Solid office computer skills: email, word processing, excel, etc.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude are a strict requirement.
• Experience in the field of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) is preferred--not required.
