TE Connectivity's Product Managers manage all aspects of a product portfolio, managing the lifecycle of the product portfolio for sustained growth and profitability. They are responsible for executing the overall business strategy to meet sales and profit targets.

This role for Product Manager for Sub-Systems will interact closely with the Global Product Manager for Sub-systems and with the Electro-mechanical solution team with Engineering and Project Management hubs in India, Netherlands and China. This team has a 30y+ track record of designing value added products for major automation OEMS. The deep customer partnership on innovation & value creation is driven by global alignment and joint execution and is leveraging TE Connectivity’s core competencies, application know-how and portfolio depth.

This PM will need to act with an entrepreneurial spirit and manage the portfolio with a GM mindset.  The PM will engage Sales and Customers directly and will work across functions to manage all aspects of the product life cycle through day-to-day tactical activities with an emphasis on portfolio rationalization and profitability improvement. 

Your main tasks:

Market Sensing & Strategy Development

  • Understand the product portfolio strategy, research market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape, supporting applicant focus growth.
  • Perform competitive analysis and benchmarking
  • Work with R&D and operations in the development of new products and extensions to existing products to meet current and future customer requirements.
  • Manage the product lifecycle by providing analysis and implementing life cycle strategies

 

New Product Development & Life Cycle Management

  • Perform product cost and gross margin analysis and lead critical projects to drive competitive advantage for the assigned product line.
  • Lead the business side of specific NPI and sustaining projects.
  • Work with Sales and Customers to develop new opportunities and drive customer requests.
  • Support in championing the resolution of product and customer escalation e.g. Delivery, quality, inventory.
  • Support PM on S&OP product forecast and drive forecast accuracy.
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure delivery performance of the portfolio and driving improvement initiatives.
  • Drive initiatives to support meeting or exceeding all of the key performance indicators established during the annual strategic and operating planning processes.
  • Focus on portfolio rationalization of legacy products according to expected schedule- including IP transfers, contracts renegotiation, pricing adjustments and other commercial alignment

Your ideal background:

  • 3-5 years of experience in product management, project management, application engineering, ideally in Industrial automation market.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Business acumen combined with entrepreneurial mind-set
  • Customer focus with solution-oriented thinking.
  • Ability to prioritize and Drive for results.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build credible relationships with multiple organization functions.
  • Good command of English.
