Plant HR Manager / Site HR Leader

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's HR Solutions Partners/HR Managers provide consultative geographically-based HR professional services, guidance and coaching to managers and employees, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, goals, and objectives.  They coach managers or employees to ensure that recurring HR processes, such as talent/performance management or salary review processes, are completed appropriately and on time.  The HR Solutions Partner manages a variety of Human Resources activities including employment and employee relations, recruiting, termination and data analysis/metrics.  They conduct employee orientations and implement organizational development, workforce or succession planning, training, or performance management strategies as developed by the parent organization.


To support our strategic expansion, the increases in production volume and to guide the migration of roles from High Cost Locations, we are now looking for an experienced HR Manager for our production site in Bydgoszcz. The successful candidate will be responsible for all HR aspects related to the site, serve as a key counter part to the Plant Management, and will closely align with key business stakeholders from around the globe. He/She will additionally work in close collaboration with our other locations in Poland (Krakow, Szczecin, Gdansk-area).

The site in Bydgoszcz has around 1500 employees, and is the biggest and most important site for the Industrial Business Unit in the EMEA region. The role reports directly into the Regional HR Director (based in Ireland). The role can be filled immediately.


Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the general liaison between employees, managers, and departments to practically solve complex and diverse HR issues
  • Bring effective diagnosis of business issues and strategies turning them into HR action plans, with integrated interventions and solutions that will deliver against key business priorities
  • Partner with campus leadership team in the implementation of people strategies and policies regarding performance management, and talent acquisition as well as compensation and benefits, employee relations and HR related communications
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items affect the attraction, motivation, development and retention of talent
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization to be a partner and a problem solver of people issues at the campus
  • Implements and assesses impact of employee relations initiatives / practices as part of the "great place to work” strategy
  • Collaborate with Poland country HR and leadership teams to ensure where possible consistent practices and application of HR strategy
  • Manage the budget and other financial measures of the HR team across the Bydgoszcz campus
  • Completes special projects as assigned by management and work closely with BU HR in developing initiatives to support the business
  • Leads the HR team and builds strong working relationships within the team via planning, supervising, and coordinating the work activities
  • Effectively coach all levels of management in matters related to people and HR processes – be the trusted Partner to the leadership team
  • Coordinates/participates in meetings between HR/management and works council and/or labor union and local authorities
  • Helps the EHS organization to implement a safety philosophy that embodies all of the organization resources, ensuring suitable working conditions and compliance with safety regulations to foster a culture of an injury-free workplace

What your background should look like:

  • Master Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • At least 10 years experience in various HR assignments (organizational design, workforce planning, recruitment, compensation, performance management, labor law, talent development, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of Managerial Experience
  • Experience leading HR in a production site
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, international matrix organization
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Broad knowledge of social and labor law in Poland
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills as well as good knowledge of interviewing techniques
  • Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels
  • Culturally sensitive
  • High degree of confidentiality and a strong personal value system
  • Fluent in English & Polish both written and spoken
