Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.


TE Connectivity (TE) has an opportunity for an Automation Manufacturing Technology (AMT) professional with strong technical, communications and team working capabilities. The Mechanical Engineer will identify opportunities for automation based on existing solutions or work on development of new machines, processes and automation concepts as part of a multifunctional Global Team. The individual shall be an expert in automation machine build and implementation for various production processes of different plants and in an international environment. This is a rare opportunity to join a high performing organization in a global role, reporting to the AMT manager, who reports to the VP of Automation Manufacturing Technology, as part of the corporate Global Operations team.

Specific tasks: 

  • Industrial machines installation, commissioning and troubleshooting in EMEA TE plants. 
  • Diagnosing and removing occurring defects and production downtime.
  • Supporting new machines design.
  • Reporting the progress of the onsite works.
  • Continually learning and leading automation technologies and market trends. Match business strategies to seek new system design opportunities that may be appropriate for TE.

What your background should look like:

•    At least 5 years technical experiences in manufacturing automation with knowledge of current automation technologies.
•    Engineering degree (B.S., MS or PhD) on mechanical engineering, mechatronics or automation preferred 
•    Very good knowledge of issues and troubleshooting in the field of mechanics.
•    Ability to communicate technical ideas, vision and inspire people at every level to deliver and execute automation platforms.
•    Experience in automation machine build and development, including concept design.
•    Very good command of English both written and oral, can perform complex technical discussion with foreign colleague, write complex technical documentation and specifications. Good command of German and/or French would be an advantage.
•    A good understanding of modern manufacturing processes.
•    Willingness to travel frequently, and as necessary, to support a global technology organization with a significant presence in EMEA and other regions (50% of time).
•    A demonstrated track record of successfully and effectively driving step change in today’s manufacturing through technological improvements.
•    Rich experience in robotics, mechanical design and electro-mechanical parts selection.
•    Rich experience in automation machines assemble
