HR Manager for production site in Bydgoszcz (m/f)

Job Overview

For our production site in Bydgosczcz (Poland), we are now looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead all local HR and Payroll services, and also oversee a smaller secondary site in Lebork. The site in Bydgoszcz has around 1300 employees, the secondary site in Lebork around 200. The successful candidate will be based at the main location in Bydgoszcz. There are 12 people reporting directly into this role.


Apart from being responsible for the day to day activites, the HR Manager will also have regular interactions with the HR Leadership from the Industrial Business Unit, who is "owner" of the production sites. The successful candidate will therefore work in highly complex matrix structure in a global environment.


For the role itself, the HR Manager will be driving the HR strategy to support the achievement of the strategic business objectives. Responsibilities comprise providing HR guidance to all levels of the organization on implementing policies and procedures, recruiting, total rewards, data analytics, HR projects, organizational development and training.


Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the general liaison between employees, managers, and departments to practically solve complex and diverse HR issues
  • Implements and assesses impact of employee relations initiatives / practices as part of the "great place to work” strategy
  • Completes special projects as assigned by management and work closely with BU HR in developing initiatives to support the business
  • Leads the HR team and builds strong working relationships within the team via planning, supervising, and coordinating the work activities
  • Coordinates/participates in meetings between HR/management and works council and/or labor union and local authorities
  • Helps the EHS organization to implement a safety philosophy that embodies all of the organization resources, ensuring suitable working conditions and compliance with safety regulations to foster a culture of an injury-free workplace
What your background should look like:
  • Master Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • At least 10 years experience in various HR assignments (organizational design, workforce planning, recruitment, compensation, performance management, labor law, talent development, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of Managerial Experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, international matrix organization
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Broad knowledge of social and labor law
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills as well as good knowledge of interviewing techniques
  • Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels
  • Culturally sensitive
  • High degree of confidentiality and a strong personal value system
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
