Global HR Business Partner, SYSTEM Sub-Vertical - INDUSTRIAL.

 

Company and business background
TE Connectivity’s Industrial business unit is a global leader in connectivity products for the Industrial market. The business unit is organized as a “company within the broader TE enterprise”, with all functional areas reporting to the SVP & GM of the business unit.

The business is a well-known Tier-1 / Tier-2 player in Factory Automation, Building Automation, Rail, Machinery and several other end-markets. The business serves several large OEMs and their supply chain partners through a direct sales force and more than 200,000 customers (including small OEMs, harness makers, contract manufacturers, and installers) through the Electronic and Electrical distribution channels. 

The business has broad product portfolio that includes connectors, sensors, relays, passives, switches, EMI filters, and value-added assemblies. The business is truly global, with a substantial revenue as well as engineering and manufacturing presence in North America, EMEA, Japan, China and SE Asia. The business has grown significantly over the last 2 years with a major transformation and turnaround under way that has resulted in sharp increases in revenues, gross margin and operating margin – all performing at much higher level compared to vast majority of our peers and competitors. 

The business is currently projected to be around $2 billion annual revenue in the current financial year and with 8000+ employees globally spread across EMEA, US and APAC.

 

The Role
The candidate will be a well-rounded senior HR Professional with a solid mix of global experiences gained by working & living across multiple geographies and partnering with senior business leaders with global remit. This is an Individual Contributor role, that influences through his/her thought leadership in a heavily matrix organization – both within business as well as Global HR function. 
The candidate will bring proven experience in partnering with business leaders on driving transformation and turnaround agenda within commercial functions enabling organic and in-organic growth opportunities, improving customer satisfaction, and strengthening our core capabilities within Product Management, Engineering, Operations, M&A, Continuous Improvement and and Project Management.
The successful candidate will be part of the Industrial BU HR leadership team and will report to VP Global HR Business Partner of the Industrial business unit.  

The position can be based anywhere in Europe with strong preference for Central Europe (Poland, Czech Republic) or Netherlands or UK. The role would though require around 20% time as business travels and we offer flexibility for the candidate to work remotely.


Key Responsibilities


Strategy
•    Business Unit and Commercial Strategy: Influences and contributes towards shaping the BU HR Strategy with primary focus on deployment of right capabilities enabling organic and in-organic growth opportunities and creating a right culture with focus on customer excellence.
•    Organization Design: Partners with General Manager of Sub Vertical to review the effectiveness of current organization design and influence the design considerations using STAR Organization Design framework.
•    Mergers & Acquisitions: Collaborates with M&A Integration team during due diligence phase and further ensures the successful integration of various functions within BU.
•    Leverage HR Analytics: Analyze trends and metrics as they apply to client groups, develop proactive actions to further support business objectives and people strategy. 
•    Strategic Workforce Planning: Strengthen the Strategic workforce capabilities within the Sub-Vertical functions through systematic approach and talent forecasting and planning tools while also building flexibility and agility considering cyclical nature of our business.
•    Culture: Shape and create the culture of accountability by ensuing business leaders are driving the commitment to culture transformation initiatives within their respective business area.


Execution
•    Project Management: Drives strong project management cadence and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities balancing the focus between business and HR functional priorities.
•    TE HR Operating Model: Leverages on TE HR Operating Model to deliver on best and timely HR services and ensure good understanding of business priorities and projects within the broader HR Community.
•    HR TEOA: Drive HR operational excellence through TEOA and on-going identification of continuous improvement opportunities across HR processes and systems.
•    Talent Acquisition: Ensures putting strong cadence to review performance of RPO hiring solution and Executive Recruitments using standard dashboard and collaborate to effectively resolve any escalations.
•    Global HR Processes & Systems: Ensure smooth compliance with TE Global HR Processes such as Performance management, yearend compensation review etc.
•    Talent Management and Organization Leadership Reviews (OLR): Build and execute pro-active approach and cadence within the client leadership team to drive successors readiness, improvement in gender diversity and employee engagement and inclusion index.


Talent
•    Leadership Coaching:  Partner with the Leadership Team to provide advice, creative problem solving and counsel on HR related business matters. 
•    Leadership Effectiveness: Coach and counsel senior business leader in driving their own and team development through systematic use of information from leadership evaluation process and tools (LDW, 360 Feedback, Leader simulation, LEI Index etc.)
•    Succession Pipeline: Put strong cadence and governance to measure progress of succession pipeline for all commercial leadership and value creation roles.
•    Self-Development: Foster own development through networking with peers across IS and other segment, partnering with CoE Teams on initiatives with common purpose and drive best practice and knowledge sharing within IND BU and broadly across TE HR community.
•    Employee Engagement, Inclusion and Diversity: Drive employee engagement through effective communication, programs, and alignment to development and growth opportunities.

 

Candidate profile
•    An undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management with an MBA being highly desired.  
•    The successful candidate will have preferably operated within a large and complex Industrial/Manufacturing company, developed strong appreciation of leading through influence, brings enterprise mindset, able to operate within a fast pace, complex and dynamic environments and navigate through uncertainties and ambiguities. 
•    This is a role for a HR Partner that operates successfully in a matrix, is a strong networker and relationship builder and is not concerned by the reporting lines.
•    The role also requires HR Partner to coach business leaders on driving their own and team development, shape the organization culture, introduce new ways of working and drive strong commitment to employee engagement, inclusion and diversity.
•    S/he will be a seasoned professional with at least 8 years of experience leading Global HR business partnering roles within a heavily matrix organizations.  
•    The HR Partner will have strong experience in driving transformation and turnaround within Sub Vertical through partnership with senior leaders with global remit and scope.  
•    The successful candidate will bring strong business and commercial acumen with expertise in Organization Design, Organization Effectiveness, Leadership Development and Strategic workforce planning.
