Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create a supplier sourcing strategy, under strong consideration of customer needs
  • Drive the attainment and improvement of relevant procurement KPI’s, incl. Material Productivity, Lead time performance, delivery, and Quality
  • Responsible for contracting of supplier commercial agreements
  • Responsible for preparing RFQ’s, utilizing E-Tools, awarding new business and negotiation all raw materials, components, and tooling
  • Lead the optimization of the Supplier Footprint, incl. setup of new suppliers, reducing the number of supplier and resourcing activities
  • Ensure and Drive optimization for material/components (incl. finished goods) used by the plant for production and establish supplier agreements
  • Conduct risk assessments for new suppliers and legacy suppliers not done yet
  • Ensure that all suppliers meet TE requirements for compliance
  • Drive the usage of the Supplier Portal by utilization of tactical buyer department
  • Manage the tool life cycle at suppliers
  • Support the tactical buyer in the following tasks: inventory management components, manage outside product shelflife, and block invoices
  • Support insourcing activities lead by operations and participate in supplier quality audits
What your background should look like:
  • 3+ years experience in procurement as a buyer, including experience in preparation of negotiations
  • Previous procurement experience with molding, die casting, machining, stamping, tooling is preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with multi-cultural teams
  • Proven track record in negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of regional and global supplier base for relevant commodities
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint
  • Good knowledge of French as a strong asset
  • Fluent English at negotiation level
