University Relations - Talent Attraction Specialist

TEAM OVERVIEW

TE's Talent Attraction eams evaluate TE's ability to recruit and select the desired employees and develop, implement and monitor the programs and processes used in recruitment and selection. They source, recruit, screen, interview and recommend external and/or internal candidates to staff open requisitions. They also utilize the services of employment agencies and/or place employment ads in appropriate sources, including the intranet, Internet and print media.
The teams are responsible for developing and implementing recruiting plans and administering talent management efforts and employee referral programs, managing the resume tracking system and ensuring consistent corporate image throughout recruiting campaigns.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The University Relations Specialist will play a key role in TE Connectivity’s Talent Attraction strategy by supporting our program which attracts students and early talent to our organization.

This role will be responsible for a scalable and rich University Relations Program, which includes the recruitment and onboarding process, as well as the summer internship cycle and co-op rotations. This role will also leverage existing and new partnerships with universities to attract early talent into long term careers with TE.

You will help facilitate summer long programs and ensure an exceptional experience for talent. This will be accomplished by cultivating relationships with partner universities, supporting our inclusive and diverse culture, and supporting our high-touch onboarding process. This role has an opportunity to make a significant impact on the business and our early career programs.



 

DESIRED OUTCOMES

  • Support talent delivery team with recruiting process including supporting Hiring Managers.
  • Coordinating the logistics of campus events in conjunction with NC3 (job postings, managing the overall schedule with close attention to trigger dates; planning and coordinating resources for events to include career fairs, networking events, company information sessions, campus interview dates)
  • Supporting the execution of TE Connectivity’s University Relations strategy including on-going cultivation and relationship building with Universities and Students
  • Building and maintaining relationships with hiring managers.
  • Supporting the execution of the Summer Intern Program (Orientation Program, Event Planning, Performance Reviews, Mentoring Program and Feedback) 

WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD LOOK LIKE

The University Relations Specialist must have experience identifying and designing effective talent attraction practices and early talent programs that delivery strong talent to our business. Including:
 

  • Prior management of a university relations program, specifically where engineering and supply chain have been a focus
  • Vendor Management: Experience in project/program management of vendors in talent acquisition space
  • Understands the overall hiring process and keys to effective candidate experience
  • Partnership with an RPO provider, OR willingness to closely partner and ensure our success
  • Previous experience with tracking and reporting tools such as applicant tracking tools, recruitment systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • A passion and energy to tell employer stories derived from new products, people, and opportunities
  • Previous experience supporting Inclusion and Diversity Recruiting efforts (NSBE, SWE, NABA, etc.)
  • Understands what it takes to run a successful university relations campaigns, including focused targeting, messaging and how to communicate results
  • Effectively works, interacts, manages, and consults with recruiting managers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly collaborative, energetic, inspirational and an excellent ability to build consensus and drive momentum forward in a matrixed environment
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in human resources or related field
  • 2-3 years previous experience in Talent Acquisition or University Recruiting
  • Experience managing activities and events, demonstrating organizational and planning skills.
  • Familiarity with university or post-secondary campus environment
  • Proven skills in applicant tracking systems, preferably SAP Success Factors
  • History of success networking and identifying key campus relationships to proactively engage top talent
