Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Sensors Business Unit is a $1B global business with over 4,000 employees, and operations around the world. 

 

The Sensors Finance team provides accurate and timely business decision support to the GM, CFO, and business and functional leads through financial analysis and detailed reporting, as part of annual and strategic planning, internal forecasting, standard close activities and other company initiatives. 

The Senior Manager – Finance will own the global Sales & Operations Planning Process, (S&OP) to ensure that the executive leadership team receives a thoughtful and clear business overview for making strategic business decisions focused on balancing demand and supply.  The S&OP process leader also establishes the strategic vision then designs and executes on that strategy implementing systems to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the S&OP process. One of the main goals of the S&OP process is to identify key risks & opportunities to strategic business objectives and to ensure we deliver an Extraordinary Customer Experience.

Major Responsibilities Include

  • Establish a common standard / maturity of the S&OP processes. Customize & standardize the processes through direct engagement, and roll-out best practices thru the S&OP functional facilitators.
  • Establish timing, resource and gap plan analysis necessary to continuously drive improvement activities using TEOA S&OP tools & KPI's (Star level rating)
  • Drive implementation of systems that facilitate the improvement and efficiency for each step of the S&OP process
  • Chair monthly Management Business Review.  Generate and standardize the Executive Summary considering the functional inputs and escalations
  • Advise the Executive Staff on S&OP data used in the creation of the official 18 month rolling forecast. Ensure the TES BU is aligned on "one set of numbers"
  • Ensure accountable and appropriate input from all internal sources (Engineering, Sales, Product Management, Operations, Finance) into each step of the S&OP cycle
  • Establish processes for "external input" into the S&OP process such as external suppliers, non-TES manufacturing plants, etc. 
  • Benchmark / Collaborate with other TE business units to share best practices and drive continuous improvement in the TES S&OP process
  • Develop and implement S&OP improvement strategies that complement and advance TEOA and other TE improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Along with our core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork and innovation we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting with 10+ years of direct experience.
  • MBA, CFA or other master’s qualification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance experience and 2+ years management experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, for a senior executive audience.  Able to tactfully highlight and defend positions in front of senior management.
  • Ability to develop talent, and effectively coach and motivate others
  • Advanced finance skills – ability to close and consolidate pro forma or forecasted Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements across multiple legal entities and regions, and integrate acquisitions as required

Competencies and Attributes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Financial system / ERP knowledge a plus, along with familiarity with data analysis tools such as Tableaux or Power BI
