Job Overview

TE Connectivity Legal Operations Manager

 

TE Connectivity’s Law Department Operations team facilitates the execution of the General Counsel's strategic objectives and ensures that the Law Department's goals are achieved timely, innovatively, cost effectively and efficiently. The Law Department is a 400+ global, highly matrixed organization.

 

The successful candidate will be able to work efficiently and independently, communicate clearly, manage multiple projects and tasks with little guidance, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick response, and be proactive in solving problems that affect internal customers. A high level of professionalism, integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is essential.

 

The Legal Operations Manager supervises one team member.  The position can be based in either the Harrisburg or Berwyn, PA area; however, remote working candidates will also be considered.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The Legal Operations Manager reports to the Vice President, Legal Operations, and has three primary focus areas:

 

Comprehensive management of internal and external Law Department spend

  • Implement an annual financial strategy for both existing and new initiatives, develop global budgets, prepare quarterly forecasts and monthly variance explanations, accruals, and report regularly to the General Counsel and the Law leadership team.
  • Serve as the day-to-day interface with Corporate Finance and Procurement and as the point person to ensure that the Law Department’s accounts payable needs across the enterprise are met.

 

Administration of e-billing and matter management system

  • Direct the Department’s relationship with the solution provider, oversee and work with Internal TEIS and SAP teams on solution enhancements, conduct trainings, data reporting and auditing.
  • Manage outside counsel and vendors including assistance with implementing alternative fee arrangements.

 

Coordination of Operations’ Lean Law (Continuous Improvement) site

  • Plan, implement, measure and sustain process improvements enacted to support the Department’s value drivers of Speed, Risk Balance Cost to Serve and Talent Development.

What your background should look like:

 

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. is required preferably in Business, Finance or equivalent.  Prior experience in accounting, billing, finance, forecasting, procurement and/or project management preferred.
  • 8+ years prior relevant experience at a large global company
  • Ability to model TE behaviors of Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, and Innovation
  • Demonstrated project management skills (Project Management Certification a plus)
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to liaise with all areas of the business at all levels, including senior management
  • Skilled at presenting data in a thoughtful and effective manner to drive better decisions
  • Familiarity with TyMetrix or similar enterprise legal e-billing solution is a plus
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel), SAP and Oracle (Hyperion Planning) or similar enterprise financial systems
  • For remote working candidates, ability to travel to attend meetings and presentations will be required.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $129,700 – $194,500 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
