Financial Analyst - Corporate FP&A

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Financial Planning & Analysis Teams develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. They perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. They gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. The Financial Planning & Analysis Teams also perform economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.

 

•    Execute data analytics program within Corporate FP&A to drive enhanced insight and understanding of business drivers, both internal and external to the organization, in support of improved decision making, forecasting accuracy, and [ROI/Tradeoff] analysis
•     Proactively identify business risks and opportunities through profitability analyses including drivers of revenue and cost at variable levels of the business.
•    Initiate and drive deep dive analysis to enable decision making, execution and/or strategic planning at the corporate, business unit or segment level.
•    Grow data analytics pipeline by collaboratively working across all teams within Corporate FP&A to understand team specific objectives and proactively identify opportunities for new/enhanced analytics
•    Facilitate team alignment to TEOA-F established principals through the establishment of globally consistent processes, driving process improvement through best practice sharing, and identifying tools and practices necessary to establish a robust PIM program
•    Provide support to the quarterly forecast, Business Outlook, and Strategic Plan cycles through the execution of standard reporting and data analysis; Contribute to team objectives and projects through both individual and collaborative work 
•    Understand, manipulate, maintain, and leverage various software tools and platforms to capture company and market data for use in various financial and business analytics  
•    Business partner with other functions within TE to assist and influence when necessary
•    Provide support to the development of periodic and ad-hoc presentations to organizational leadership including Board of Directors and Executive, Leadership, and Operating Committees

What your background should look like:

 

•    Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with 4-6 years of direct experience.  MBA a plus.
•    Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Advanced financial modeling skills – ability to create pro forma or forecasted Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements
•    Deals well with ambiguity, demonstrates intellectual curiosity and ownership of tasks
•    Understanding of macroeconomics factors, how foreign currency and commodities (copper, gold, silver, resins, etc.) impact financial performance and ability to incorporate this understanding into financial modeling.
•    Working knowledge of valuation and project evaluation techniques such as discounted cash flow analysis, internal rate of return, net present value, return on invested capital, and weighted average cost of capital.
•    Proficiency in Hyperion and data warehouse tools preferred.
•    Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
•    Interest in learning data analytics and presentation tools such as Tableau
