Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Product Management Team manage all aspects of the product, from driving new product development to manufacturing and to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans to meet sales and profit targets. In this function, you will be part of the global Low Voltage Cold Applied team working with cross-functional teams and will contribute to the development of the energy sector towards a more sustainable and reliable energy pathway.
The Product Specialist assists the Product Manager in ensuring product lines meet or exceed the key performance indicators established during the annual strategic and operating planning processes. They are the specialist in the field and will understand customer and market requirements for the portfolio whilst monitoring market trends and changes in industry specifications and legislation.
The Product Specialist will work across functions to manage all aspects of the product life cycle from tactical planning to day-to-day activities, with an emphasis on supporting the strategic goals associated with the product line. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement product and applications training for customers, sales, customer service, application engineers, etc.
  • Generate Product Selection following receipt of enquiries from customers or local sales team.
  • Research products and markets to maintain competitive intelligence
  • Gather product-related customer feedback and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain, Quality, Planning, Data Management) to clarify technical related questions and applications of the product
  • Assist in daily managerial situations impacting the assigned product lines:


Examples include:

  • Providing product information to customers and/or the sales team
  • Supporting with documentation creation (datasheet, customer drawing, catalog, installation instruction)
  • Performing product cost analysis and supporting cost reduction projects
  • Implementing product rationalization actions
  • Gathering product specification and product attribute information for the development of marketing collateral, including e-catalog


What your background should look like:

  • Technical understanding of electrical networks, low voltage preferred
  • Knowledge of business and project management principles and practices
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Analytical competency and ability to work with large amounts of data and business analytics tools
  • Very good communication skills, organized and results-oriented
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related field (or applicable technical experience will be considered in lieu).
