Tooling Buyer (m/f/d)

Job Overview

The Tooling buyer gives all necessary support to the Tooling Procurement Organization to reach the customer demands and fulfil targets in timing, productivity and quality. This position will assist in the efficient and effective Sourcing Process of purchase orders and ensure data maintenance and accuracy; also support the introduction of new products with the objective of sourcing material at the right cost with the right supply chain from the start of production;



  • Works within NPI cross-functional project team playing a key part in the coordination and delivery of the New Product Development across the company.
  • Sources complex direct materials (e.g. die castings, injection moldings, metal fabrications) with suppliers that can meet the service, quality and cost requirements. Working closely with relevant buyers throughout the sourcing process for new products.
  • Create Purchase Requisitions and/or creation of respective purchase orders, and problem-solving with suppliers and internal functions 
  • Review open orders and communication/escalation of external and internal discrepancies to relevant buyer 
  • Support in the review and design of standard working instructions and process improvements
  • Support other co-departments to achieve TE targets of TTM, savings, quality, delivery and localization
  • Drive ad hoc queries and work on assigned projects; 

What your background should look like:

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, supply chain or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in purchasing technical commodities requiring close interface with engineering.
  • A certification in the procurement area (i.e. C.P.M. or CPIM) is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to effectively multi-task
  • Strong business acumen combined with demonstrated negotiation / influencing skills
  • Ability to work in matrix environment with multi-cultural team
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude
  • Strong Team player
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in both English and Germany
