Senior R&D ENGINEER

Responsibilities

  • Creation, analyzing and maintaining of the hardware requirements derived from the system requirements and the system architecture
  • Creation and maintaining the high-level hardware concept
  • Ensure that alle hardware related system requirements and the hardware part of the system architecture are covered by hardware requirements
  • Creation of a hardware design that covers the created hardware requirements.
  • Creation of a schematic and a layout depending on the hardware design
  • Creation and execution the Hardware- and Hardware integration test.
  • Organization and moderation of hardware schematic and layout review
  • Support the system test and system integration test with creation of high quality testcases
  • Support the quality department with creation of audit relevant documents
  • Controlling of cost and time
  • Creation and maintaining of hardware development guidelines
  • Guide of a hardware development team
  • Responsible for the qualification of a hardware development team
  • Planning of hardware resources
  • Optimization of development workflows
  • Supporting the Project Manager (PjM) and Technical Project Lead (TPL) for effort estimation
  • Supporting during offering and bidding processes with hardware development topics
  • Documentation of the hardware concept during offering and bidding process
  • Supporting the Project Manager (PjM) and Technical Project Lead (TPL) in reversed engineering analysis to identify functional and quality characteristics and cost structure.
  • Analyzing the state-of-the-art market, the competitors and the customers

Education/Knowledge/Experience

  • Electrical/Electronics & communications engineering degree.
  • >5 years’ experience in automotive systems
  • Excellent knowledge of Hardware development
  • Excellent knowledge of Hardware development tools for creation of schematics and layouts
  • Sound knowledge on cyber security standards for electrical and electronic systems like ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 24089 and related specs like Automotive SPICE.
  • Sound knowledge on functional safety standards for electrical and electronic systems like ISO/SAE 26262
  • Experience in Thermal Management topics
  • Experience in EMC topics
  • Experience in microcontroller-based system development.
  • Experience in Model Based Development and simulation of models
  • Good understanding of communication interfaces like Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN, WiFi, SPI/JTAG.
  • Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables.
  • Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time.
  • Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with global teams, internal business leaders, and technology leaders.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and require minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing priorities.
