Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

The Development Engineer is responsible for Embedded Firmware development for high-speed communication protocols within the innovative area. Interaction with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas during the pre-production stages of new products is also an important part of the role.

What your background should look like:

  • Creation and implementation of fine software concepts (SW designs), taking into account the overall software architecture.
  • Requirement analysis as well as support in the creation of requirements with regard to SW support
  • Creation of SW architectures in the supported software module
  • Participation in the creation and implementation of the product-specific SW integration or SW test strategy
  • Carrying out module and function tests as well as verifying the implementation
  • Troubleshooting/maintenance and processing of error tickets (analysis results, status, effort, workflow)
  • Responsibility for conducting reviews of all work products in the SW development cycle
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other software developers
  • Close cooperation with other departments

Your Profil

  • Successfully completed studies in electrical engineering, technical computer science, software engineering or a similar discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the field of embedded software
  • Several years of experience with modern software development practices and modern programming languages such as C and C++
  • Sound knowledge of modern software development methods and processes (aSPICE, Scrum etc.)
  • Experience with vehicle software architecture, preferably AUTOSAR
  • Experience with version management tools such as Git, GitHub, etc.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken
