STAFF R&D ENGINEER

Responsibilities

  • Clarify and define product related technical requirements with customers.
  • Responsible for creating the product architecture (architecture of the overall system), including mechanics, antenna systems, electronics and software. Ensure consistency between system architecture and customer requirements and associated test cases.
  • Interface with the customer and maintain customer relationships.
  • The Technical Lead has overall technical and functional leadership during product development
  • Defining architectural tasks and planning as well as ensuring execution in scope, time and quality
  • Ensuring compliance with defined technical standards
  • Carrying out defined internal and external reviews of the system and software architecture throughout the entire development process
  • Monitor project execution against defined key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Close collaboration with the hardware / software project managers and the overall project manager
  • Collaboration with the "Customer Chief Engineer" to find optimal solution approaches
  • Project related risk assessments
  • Technical management of customer requirements

Education/Knowledge/Experience

  • University or technical college degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering, technical computer science, media computer science, software engineering.
  • Sound experience in methods and process models for the development of embedded systems in the automotive sector
  • Very good knowledge in the application of requirement management tools
  • Knowledge of architectural principles of different SW/HW architectures
  • Knowledge of operating systems e.g. Linux, Win CE
  • Understanding of software quality according to ISO/IEC 12207 and DIN ISO/IEC 15504 (SPICE)
  • Experience with control units from the infotainment sector
  • Knowledge of system integration and system verification
  • Product knowledge of mechanical, electronic components and assemblies
  • Profound and business fluent knowledge of English
  • Several years of professional experience as a system architect, requirements engineer or technical project manager in the automotive environment or related areas of infotainment and communication electronics
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, flexibility, ability to work under pressure as well as assertiveness and structured thinking skills
  • Analytical skills and continuity in project tracking, taking into account customer requirements and economic efficiency
  • Diligence, negotiation skills, coordination skills, goal orientation, skills with regard to coaching and mentoring as well as decision-making skills
