Position Summary

The Regional Coordinator, EMEA serves as the primary regional interface between the global AFG organization and the EMEA commercial teams. The role ensures effective deployment of AFG strategies, drives execution of regional growth initiatives, and facilitates alignment across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and other stakeholders. The Regional Coordinator acts as both a facilitator and an influencer, ensuring that global priorities are translated into regional actions and that regional needs, opportunities, and challenges are effectively communicated to the global AFG leadership team. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive outcomes through influence rather than direct authority.

Main tasks:

    • Strategic Alignment & Growth Execution
    • Deploy and support execution of global AFG growth strategies within EMEA.
    • Ensure alignment between regional growth priorities and global application strategies.
    • Identify market trends, customer opportunities, competitive developments, and regional business risks.
    • Support regional implementation of strategic initiatives, portfolio optimization efforts, and growth programs.
    • Facilitate alignment between application teams and regional commercial organizations.
    • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Serve as the primary coordination point between:
      • Sales
      • Product Management
      • Engineering
      • Marketing
      • Customer Experience
      • Operations
      • Regional Leadership

     

    • Drive collaboration across functions to accelerate opportunity development and problem resolution.
    • Facilitate discussions where ownership spans multiple applications, regions, or functions.
    • Support execution of cross-functional action plans and growth initiatives.

     

    Management Operating System (MOS)

    • Coordinate and support execution of the AFG MOS within EMEA.
    • Drive preparation and follow-up for regional reviews, governance meetings, and growth discussions.
    • Track progress against agreed actions, strategic priorities, and business objectives.
    • Ensure consistent reporting of key regional activities and performance indicators.
    • Escalate issues requiring leadership attention.
    • Opportunity & Project Acceleration
    • Support identification and acceleration of strategic customer opportunities.
    • Facilitate engagement of the appropriate AFG resources to support customer projects.
    • Coordinate activities across applications when opportunities require multi-application solutions.
    • Monitor critical projects and ensure barriers are addressed proactively.

    Voice of the Region

    • Act as the voice of EMEA within the global AFG organization.
    • Gather and communicate regional feedback regarding:
      • Market trends
      • Customer requirements
      • Competitive activity
      • Resource needs
      • Organizational challenges
    • Provide regional perspectives during global planning and strategy discussions.

    Talent Development & Engagement

    • Support development of AFG capabilities within the region.
    • Encourage adoption of best practices and sharing of success stories.
    • Identify capability gaps and development opportunities.
    • Support onboarding and integration of new AFG team members.
    • Foster collaboration and engagement across regional and global teams.

Your ideal background:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial, product management, engineering, application engineering, business development, or related functions.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of industrial markets, customers, and growth processes.

Importantly, this role is not a regional sales leader and not a people manager position. The Regional Coordinator is a strategic integrator and execution leader whose primary purpose is to connect the global AFG strategy with regional execution, accelerate cross-functional collaboration, and ensure that growth opportunities are effectively converted into business results within EMEA.
