Mechanical Development Engineer Data Connectivity (m/f/d)

Job Overview

In this position you will strengthen our development team in the field of Data Connectivity in Bensheim.
 

  • Independent development of innovative data connectivity solutions according to market and customer requirements in cooperation with high frequency experts and harness makers.
  • Creation of 3D models (plastic and stamped / bent components) according to TE and customer requirements 
  • Tolerance analyses and testing of assemblies for interface conformity, TE standards and design specifications 
  • Application of design methods with the help of the usual design tools 
  • Drawing preparation according to TE standards and preparation of product documentation (specifications) 
  • Participation in and implementation of design assurance measures (FMEA / CAE / DR / DV) as well as their evaluation 
  • Identification and elimination of technical risks in the project 
  • Fulfilment of the performance and quality requirements, taking into account the deadline and cost targets 
  • Coordination of the development phases during the entire product development process up to the customer release of complex systems

What your background should look like:

  • Master's degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, precision engineering or comparable
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in development processes for the automotive environment and the corresponding quality requirements (QS9000ff; IATF16949) in technical consultation with customer coordination 
  • Experience in the areas of injection moulding, stamping / bending and materials technology 
  • Very good knowledge of connectors, seal designs and their further processing
  • In-depth knowledge of CREO, Geometric Product Specification (GPS), Model Based Definition (MBD) and tolerance calculation 
  • Excellent technical drawing creation skills 
  • Experience in high frequency design is an advantage 
  • Professional, independent and creative working style 
  • Structured development of solutions 
  • Very good communication and presentation skills as well as confident and representative appearance to internal and external interfaces 
  • Team player inside and outside TE 
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English as well as knowledge of German or willingness to learn the German language
