Job Overview

Leads and manages project or program managers so they are successful in project or program execution. Thorough understanding of project or program management methodologies and tools. Plans, develops, and coordinates procedures and policies, implements process streamlining, and aligns the organization under their leadership with strategic and business objectives.

This position is based in our Bensheim site. 

Job Requirements

  • Plans, budgets, and secures staffing for the project/program managers in their scope of responsibility
  • Monitors their team’s progress and ensures compliance with standards and procedures
  • Holds the project/program managers accountable to ensure they execute their plans on-time, on-cost, and on-quality
  • Monitors the efficiency of project/program management methodologies and tools and suggests improvements; by evaluating and reporting on the progress of all projects
  • Resolves conflicts and effectively manages escalation topics
  • Clearly communicates roles, expectations, and accountabilities to their team members on a regular basis
  • Promotes and develops best practices in program/project management
  • Develops leadership qualities in people and maintains a robust succession plan pipeline
  • Drive continuous improvement and support organizational change initiatives

What your background should look like

  • Generally, requires Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field with 10 or more years of experience; or Masters’ with 10 or more years of experience; or PhD level with 6 or more years of experience; or local equivalent
  • Formal project or program management education. PgMP or PMP certification are a plus
  • Automotive Industry experience is preferred
  • Experience in managing teams executing projects or programs
  • Experience including evaluation of projects, programs, and business cases
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑development capabilities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict‑resolution skills
  • Strategic and analytical thinking; sound decision-making under pressure
  • High accountability, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to foster collaboration, drive change, and promote best practices
  • Business-fluent German and English language skills
