The Role:


The Director of Sales, EMEA is a dynamic role and is a key member of the Sales leadership team in TE’s Industrial and Commercial Transportation (ICT) Business Unit.  The business unit focus’ on the non-passenger transportation space which includes On-highway Truck & Bus, Construction, Agriculture, and Recreational Vehicle Markets.  A successful candidate will lead all a well-established sales team owning all end go-to-market within the region of responsibility including Account Management, Application Engineering, Insides Sales, and Distribution Mgmt.   This individual will facilitate the strategic planning and execution for EMEA sales that meets the organizations growth objectives by aligning talent capability with business needs and strengthening customer relationships. 
This person will lead an experienced sales team and drive the incremental growth objectives; specifically in the emerging market trends of E-Mobility and Data Connectivity while protecting TE’s market share in core Terminals & Connectors.   In addition, this position will be responsible for establishing a strategic business plan and actions to grow our customers base and market share with existing core customers.  This person must have the ability to work cross functional with product management, operations, marketing, pricing, and engineering teams to successfully execute on this business plan.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the TE ICT sales teams in EMEA. 
  • Drive talent development, elevating sales capability and accelerating intentional development experiences to strengthen pipeline with strong focus on inclusive leadership.
  • Work closely with product management and engineering to develop the product roadmap for future generation products
  • Work collaboratively with pricing, marketing, and operations to execute on global sales and business unit objectives.
  • Utilize all channels to market (outside sales, distribution, inside sales, digital) to provide effective customer management and ease of doing business.
  • Continually analyze current sales trends, market conditions and other pertinent information to drive Sales and Operations Planning process to ensure all areas are capable of meeting customer needs
  • Develop a robust revenue and forecasting plan based on new program wins/losses, market trends, and supply chain conditions
  • Utilize existing relationships with customers and identify areas of opportunity for building new relationships to drive accelerated growth 
  • Responsible for conducting analysis of account management responsibilities to ensure high productivity, account penetration and the ability to leverage all opportunities. 
  • They must also have an ability to continually energize customers, team members, and key internal constituents to build on the company's historical areas of success
  • Drive global strategies as required in aligning activities at global accounts and global business unit objectives.
  • Ongoing travel to regional customers and international travel as needed as a senior member of the ICT leadership team.

Background and Experience Required:


  • A B.S. degree in Engineering or Business is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of successful sales experience with a minimum of 5 years successful sales leadership experience
  • Experience in interconnect or passive electronics and/or commercial transportation is preferred
  • Proven track record of creating an inclusive, engaged, talent focus culture.
  • Experience in evaluating market conditions, trends, opportunities, and competitive threats
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as a track record of developing sales talent
  • Ability to lead a large virtual and dispersed team of field sales employees
  • Sound strategic thinking with results orientation and execution skills
  • Experience identifying opportunities to improve profitability and/or support execution of initiatives driven by others
  • Strong relationship building ability and ability to influence others to work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and able to work with all levels of and organization both internally and with customers
