Account Manager (m/f/d) OEM & Start-Up - Automotive

TE Connectivity's Account Management Teams are responsible for selling TE's products, systems or services, providing detailed technical product information and maintaining relationships with customers in assigned geographic territory, industry or accounts.


TE Connectivity has an Account Manager (f/m/d) position available in the EMEA’s region within the Automotive division business unit. This position has responsibilities of managing key customer accounts and the overall day-to-day business relationship between TE and Start-Up companies in EMEA. Emphasis will also be placed on developing relationships with engineering service providers and strategic emerging customers within the OHA area. You will be responsible for strategy development, promoting TE products and solutions, building and maintaining customer relationships within an assigned territory. You will have a minimum experience of working in Sales or Account Management and a proven track record of business development within Automotive or a similar industry would be preferred. You will be required to detect and realize new opportunities/projects, be responsible for increasing market share and managing the project pipeline for your dedicated customer base. The Account Manager (m/f/d) will report to the Sr. Sales Manager New OEM & Start-Ups.


As an Account Manager (f/m/d) - Automotive (AUT) you’ll be responsible for:


  • Actively manage Start-Ups, New Emerging customers Engineering Service Providers in EMEA
  • Develop and maintain relationships at multiple levels in the customer base to position TE as a strategic partner to the customer in this space of E-Mobility, Autonomous Mobility and Smart Mobility
  • Maintain a high level of awareness in regard to industry trends and competitive activity within the territory
  • Be the single point of contact for the customer to enhance technical communications between customer and TE engineering, product management and sales team
  • Provide technical presentation, training and support to the customer
  • Work closely with the customer to achieve the following objectives:
    • Understand their technology trends and future product requirements 
    • Provide voice of customer for engineering team in developing new Design-Ins 
    • Capture the opportunity in its earliest stage that a TE product can be designed-In
    • Propose practical solutions which can be designed into a specific product by interpreting and conveying customer’s design specifications / requirements to engineering teams
  • Ensure program timing is met by fully understanding customer requirements, due dates etc. and managing internal actions to ensure timelines are met
  • Document all program activity via SalesForce.com system
  • Effectively communicate with all other Automotive team members to promote the business needs of the territory to foster growth

What your background should look like:


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Min. 3 years work experiences in sales or directly related experience in the automotive industry
  • Good technical background in connector design, manufacturing and/or its application
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Proven skills in developing/implementing strategies in support of market segments, customers and products consistent with the overall business plan
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally and to influence without direct authority
  • Preparing the strategic business plan for key customers 
  • Market analysis, sales forecasting, price negotiation and providing quotations
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis
  • Driving license
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German, including presentation and computer skills (i.e. Power Point, Excel, Word) and additional language skills are welcome
  • Good SalesForce.com knowledge
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
