TE Connectivity’s QMS Specialist is responsible for conducting advanced quality management activities across analytics and quality systems, independently performing complex analyses and audits. Plays an active role in continuous improvement initiatives while providing technical guidance and contributing to the development and maintenance of quality methodologies, standards, and tools. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Global Quality Management System for the DDN business unit. 

Job Requirements

• Conducts quality audits and assesses compliance with internal and external quality standards.
• Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives and provides technical guidance to less experienced QMS auditors. 
• Supports the development and helps maintain the audit plan, audit checklists, procedures, and supporting documentation to ensure audit consistency and system effectiveness.
• Distinguishes among the different releases of ISO 9001. Help define characteristics of a quality management system which fulfills ISO 9001 requirements. Analyzes and communicates considerations and issues for maintaining ISO 9001 certification. Follows ISO recordkeeping requirements for quality management.
• Contributes to the development of specific QMS procedures. Determines the need to refer potential exceptions upward for review and approval.
• Participates in the implementation of QMS procedures. Provides feedback for improvement of procedures. 
• Adjust SOPs according to changes in organizational and industry procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and policies.
• Assists in establishing a standard operating procedure based on workflow and environment review. 
• Detects and summarizes patterns in data and findings by producing simple reports. Interprets and explains results of a data-gathering initiative.
• Participates in projects to gather data for analysis. 
• Understands overall business objectives to effectively mitigate risks associated with quality. 
• Adheres to the process, requirements, and documentation associated with ISO 9001 and the QMS. Contributes to the development of business case analysis for a new QMS functionality in the system. Monitors key interfaces and criticalities related to QMS. 
• Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience. Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
• Communicates well downward, upward, and outward. Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement.
• Maintains focus on the topic at hand. Recognizes the importance of emotional intelligence and cultural competence in effective communication. 
• Support QMS activities across TE sites through site visits and regional travel, including locations within Penang, China, the Philippines, Thailand, and other TE internal sites as required.

What your background should look like

• Bachelor’s Degree with technical focus
• 5+ years minimum quality assurance experience working in a global capacity
• Knowledge and application of quality system requirements (ISO 9001) 
• Self-motivated, efficient, ability to work with little or no supervision, and committed to a team approach
• Strong interpersonal, organization, and project management skills
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required to support effective communication and collaboration with internal suppliers and customers sites in China
• A certified as an Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor will be an added advantage
• Regional experience preferred.
