Active Directory Engineer

Main Target Summary 

  • Responsible for day-to-day administration duties including Windows Active Directory object maintenance, group policy, conduct complex troubleshooting and repair tasks on Active Directory, Windows Server 2012R2-2019, Domain Controllers, and other operational systems as needed.



Tasks Summary & Responsibilities

  • Participation in disaster recovery plan and practice of recovery operations.

  • Monitoring changes to forest/domain root(s) and domain controllers OU to ensure unauthorized changes do not occur

  • Monitor and resolve security situations at all levels to ensure a stable and secure forest

  • Management and monitoring connectivity, synchronization, replication, netlogon, time services, FSMO roles, schema, NTDS database partitions, and trust relationships.

  • Monitoring server performance to maintain system continuity at an acceptable level of system Performance either on premise or in Cloud

  • Manage group policy objects

  • Build/Decommission Domain Controllers – Promote/Demote servers as necessary for lifecycle management.

  • Analyze and document existing Active Directory environment

  • Policy monitoring and compliance

  • Monitor compliance with AD policies and standards, including Change Management, Communication and Coordination

  • Provide Domain/OU Admins with assistance when requested

  • Install and manage security reporting tools


Working Conditions:

  • Follow the legislation and internal policies in the area of EHS and environmental protection.

  • Follow the instruction for wearing of personal protective equipment - safety shoes, safety glasses and other depending on their working activities.

  • Follow the restriction of removal of safety screen and other safety elements of machines and equipment.

  • Follow the rules for sorting waste, proper handling and storage of chemical substances and preparations.

  • Act to prevent a fire.

  • Provide communication and information sharing with his/her team members.



Educational Degree

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology/ related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.


Professional Experience  (years in what processes and functions would be ideal)

  • Microsoft Server: 5 years (Required)

  • System Administration: 5 years (Required)

  • Active Directory: 5 years (Required)

  • Azure Active Directory: 2 years (Preferred)

  • Powershell / Python Scripting: 2 years (Preferred)


Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience of working in a multi domain, multi forest based complex environment, involving Child domains, Resource forest- Account forest models, as well as Domain wide and Forest Wide AD trusts.

  • Knowledge to develop and execute complex environmental changes, including consolidation, platform upgrades, and divestitures of Active Directory platforms.

  • Ability to create documentation
