Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Distribution & Logistics Teams manage the efficient flow of goods, services and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements or internal business objectives. They create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers. They also focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.

The Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the classification of products belonging to various TE Business Units in EMEA for exports as well as imports. The Trade Compliance Specialist role is responsible for the tactical and strategic operations and facilitating compliance with product classification (HTS/ECCN) requirements according applicable EU Customs- and Export Control Laws. 

 

Responsibilities

•    Assign correct HTS and ECCN Classifications to TE Products according applicable Regulations
•    Closely work with Product Managers and Engineers and other business stakeholders to obtain relevant information for correct classification and to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies
•    Determine correct jurisdiction for TE Parts (Civil, Dual-Use, Military)
•    Implementing and maintaining standard processes and work instructions
•    Be the first point of contact on Product Classification queries 
•    Perform automated screenings of Customers and End-Users

Qualifications and Experience
•    Good understanding of Product Classification according to Harmonized System of the WCO
•    Proper understanding of Product Classification for Export Control purposes 
•    3 – 5 Years of experience in a Classification Role 
•    Bachelor’s in engineering” would be a strong asset

Special Skills required
•    Broad knowledge of electronic components
•    Ability to read and interpret all types of technical documentation (datasheets, technical drawings)
•    Good command of the English language
•    Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to interact with other departments and communicate at a higher level is critical
•    Candidate must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and able to follow procedures
•    Proficient in MS Office products
•    Proficient in SAP
