Job Overview

 

The India Engineering Services offers a value-added service to the global TE engineering team and its customers by supporting Product Compliance and Conflict Minerals activities.
They assist TE affiliates and direct customers with product compliance and conflict minerals initiatives.
- Establishing the overall product compliance strategy by aligning with corporate objectives to develop and implement global product compliance within the team.
- Ensuring that Business Unit products meet all TE Environmental regulations.
- Promoting adherence to and implementation of TE PEC policies and legislative requirements within the India team.
- Overseeing supplier material declarations and compliance coding activities, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/customers to resolve issues related to material declarations.
- Utilizing AI-enabled insights and digital solutions to enhance compliance data quality, operational efficiency, and turnaround times.

 

Job Requirements

    • Provide material declarations and technical support to TE affiliates & customer requests on product compliance and conflict mineral requests as well address / resolve customer queries.
    • Evaluate supplier material declarations based on substance usage assessment for TE products, leveraging digital tools and system validations
    • Knowledge on the latest legislations related to the environmental regulatory compliance of various countries having TE’s product footprint
    • Collaborate with global purchasing groups to drive closure with non-responsive suppliers using data-driven tracking and escalation mechanisms
    • Participate in meetings / monthly /Bi-monthly Tele-conferences related to product compliance updates and system enhancements.
    • Interact directly with customers / TE affiliates for compliance or conflict Mineral or system related queries.
    • Awareness of various systems / data repository, engineering processes
    • Oversee and guide accurate entry, validation, and management of material declarations across multiple customer formats and web-based compliance portals.
    • Capability to lead a team of FTE’s & associates for day-to-day compliance operations, delivery, and quality metrics.
    • Support the development and implementation of CO2 calculation (PCF, Scope 3) according to the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064 / 14067

    Digital, AI & Automation Focus

    • Drive adoption of AI-enabled tools, analytics, and automation to enhance supplier data validation, and compliance assessments.
    • Partner with IT, digital, and business teams to optimize and automate product compliance systems and reporting mechanisms.
    • Identify opportunities to apply AI‑enabled solutions or intelligent dashboards to improve data quality and turnaround time.
    • Initiate and lead efficiency improvement projects with a strong focus on process automation, productivity, quality, and scalability
    • Identify areas of waste and work towards continuous improvement with a high focus on productivity & Quality.

What your background should look like

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 8 to 10 years’ relevant experience in a product compliance and conflict Mineral role, including managing large teams preferably at an enterprise level.
  • Bachelor of Mechanical / Chemical / Polymer Engineering / MSc in chemistry
  • Demonstrated experience in working as a team and across regions / time zones. Curiosity to understand, and ability to address and solve problems.
  •  Ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions inside TE and outside, as example customers and suppliers.

Competencies

  • Knowledge on Drawing Reading
  • Knowledge of European directives and regulations –EU RoHS/ EU ELV, REACH, CA prop 65 etc..
  • Knowledge of various raw material properties its substances and applications.
  • Good written / verbal communication (English) and interpersonal skills
  • Good presentation Skills
  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills, Power BI and Tableau
