The Aerospace Defence & Marine (AD&M) business of TE Connectivity is uniquely qualified to provide innovative solutions for a variety of applications from ruggedized interconnects, fiber optic products, and sealed harness assemblies to high-performance relays and power distribution units.

Job / Position Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality team is responsible for all or part of an organization's Quality Management System, including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. They work on systemic evaluation of products, services, facilities, manufacturing or business processes, to ensure that standards of quality are being met. Develop and implement quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. They reviews, analyze and report on quality discrepancies, investigate problems and executes quality audits, and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. The team works closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, or suppliers and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met.
 

Responsibilities:

•    Drive actions to improve customer satisfaction rating from quality perspective pertaining to business.
•    Lead and coach the Quality Team to ensure maximum team performance which includes hands-on leadership and development / coaching of direct and indirect reports
•    Member of Plant Leadership team that determines plant direction and lead & oversee the deployment and execution of Quality policies objectives, targets, goals, and Quality Initiatives 
•    Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders Ensure that current and future quality and manufacturing systems meet and/or exceed customer and regulatory requirements
•    Lead and maintain the global Quality Management System across several sites covering ISO 9001 AS9100 and TS 16949 that meets all customer, statutory and regulatory requirements. Which includes a strong  external and internal Audit Program
•    Establish relationships and contacts with Product Engineering and manufacturing team to understand process maturity and effects on transition to product realization
•    Drive and engage cross functions teams to conduct root cause analysis on both internal and external quality issues and formulate resolutions in a timely manner. Also, to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of actions and prevent problem from reoccurring. Identify gaps and opportunities and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
•    Establish governance mechanism to track and monitor compliance to quality standards and Identify and escalate potential risks in meeting the quality standards, policies and processes
•    Maintain a statistically stable measurement system for products and laboratory testing in accordance with accepted industry standards. Regularly report on quality metrics within the organization and to Senior Management.
•    Provide training and leadership in the application of statistical methods and quality tools throughout the business.  Principle resource for quality methods, statistical process and quality control.
•    Be a key interface with Sales, Product Marketing, and Manufacturing to meet customer’s needs through customer contact.  Positively communicates quality philosophy to customers.
•    Partner with support staff and matrixed reports to ensure the support and resources provided align with the needs of the operation
•    Escalate and lead resolution for all potential, serious or chronic problems affecting quality within region with global support functions.

Desired Candidate Profile:

EDUCATION /KNOWLEDGE

•    A minimum of 15 years’ experience in working in Manufacturing, preferable more than 5 years’ experience working in leadership role managing Quality.6-8 years in electronic industry involving aerospace products assembly and manufacturing
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Business required
•    7 + years of experience in quality management role
•    Knowledge of connectors/wire harness manufacturing is preferable, combined with explicit knowledge on Quality tools, Systems and Processes, Audits, Six Sigma, PFMEA, Control plans, PPAP

COMPETENCIES

•    Strong knowledge and practical experience of quality tools including, but not limited to, APQP, FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5W problem solving tools, PPAP and FAI’s.
•    Experience in complying with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment
•    Successfully worked in a team environment providing assistance to various departments requiring consistent quality assurance systems to succeed
•    Ability to direct identification of root cause, drive improvement actions and resolve problems.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to influence and drive cross functional teamwork, ability to work well with internal and external customers, and with other cultures
•    Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours to accommodate shift operational timing.

CRITICAL, PREFERABLE & FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES(IF APPLICABLE)

•    A person with a quality mindset independent of Plant level responsibility and reporting
•    Experience working and developing strong relationships with multiple customers and suppliers  in a low volume high mix industry 
•    Extensive knowledge and experience with process validation/process capability
•    Working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 .
•    Strong leadership and managerial skills to drive and lead change.
•    Strong business acumen, excellent time management skills to manage multiple projects and demands, and have the ability to manage a diverse group of employees.
