Job Overview

TE Connectivity, a technology company that designs and manufactures connectivity and sensor products for harsh environments in a variety of industries (automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, aerospace, defense, medical, oil and gas, consumer electronics energy and subsea communications), is looking for an Instructional Designer to join our global Operations Support Team.  The Instructional Designer is responsible to develop engaging Consultative Selling and Technical Training content using ADDIE design principles for our site-based and virtual blended-learning environments. This includes creating training solutions and evaluating training results for new hires, tenured representatives as well as leader groups.  The Instructional Designer will partner with global stakeholders & subject matter experts throughout each phase of the training process, e.g. develop a project plan and timeline, assess training needs, create training course storyboards and develop effective training content (facilitator-led & eLearning) to meet business needs for our global workforce. This position requires a strong foundation of Customer Service and Sales Excellence including the priority to deliver Extraordinary Customer Experiences (ECE) on every customer interaction.  It also requires Project Management to support key business initiatives and a passion for learning while helping to advance a culture of Consultative Selling Transformation.  The position will interact with key constituents (at all levels) in the Solution Center organization including Sales/Service Consultants and Leaders/Coaches.  

•    Consult with Subject Matter Experts (Inside Sales and Customer Care Representatives, Product Information Technical Specialists, Supervisors and Operations Support colleagues) to identify training needs.
•    Develop, re-design or maintain engaging learning content to maximize the learning experience for Customer Service and Sales Excellence (e.g., instructor-led or new learning strategies/technologies to enhance instruction such as eLearning, micro-learning, video-based learning, games, simulations, job aids, role plays, and blended approaches).  
•    Develop communications, presentations and project plans to support new content development, re-design or maintenance for existing content, ensuring stakeholder alignment to scope, timeframes and roll-out plans.
•    Partner with key constituents to measure outcomes and evaluate program effectiveness. This includes developing learning assessments, quizzes, proficiency tests, knowledge checks and surveys for use before or during training delivery and other tools for evaluating learning effectiveness.
•    Perform LMS administrative & reporting tasks that pertain to courseware, training assignments and completions.
•    Responsible to protect, secure, and ensure proper handling of all confidential data.
•    Provide project management and/or mentoring support in instructional design and training facilitation.
•    Keep current on learning and development trends to ensure the organization is taking advantage of the latest techniques and technologies.

What your background should look like:

•    Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Instructional Design or Training and Development with a minimum of 2 -3 years of experience as an Instructional Designer for a BPO is required.
•    Ability to create effective & engaging training content in a rapid development environment based on the ADDIE model of instructional design with proven experience in designing & delivering training in a Consultative Selling/Customer Service environment (Consultative Selling, Product Technical Support & Effective Communication/Soft Skills Training). 
•    Must have experience with eLearning development (e.g. Storyline, Captivate, etc.) and digital learning content/ technology to deploy & manage digital content in an LMS.
•    Must be able to perform as a Project Manager, Content Writer, Instructional Designer and Multi-media Developer for training content at the right level detail by asking discovery questions, validating technical product & process requirements with Subject Matter Experts, to develop scenario-based training content infused with Consultative Selling to create an Extraordinary Customer Experience. 
•    Highly motivated self-starter and proven ability to work independently on a global team.
•    Proven analytic skills and experience conducting gap assessment, training solutions to close gaps with results reporting for success measurement.
•    Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills, with ability to contribute across globally diverse teams.
•    Must be an experienced problem solver with an eye for detail and have excellent written/verbal communication skills.
•    Highly effective skills with adaptive planning, ability to support evolutionary development, early delivery and continuous improvement with rapid and flexible response to change – all without sacrificing quality
•    Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at advanced skill level, plus experience with One Note, TEAMS & Sharepoint
•    Working hours flexibility to be able to participate on global team conference calls (when needed)

•    Prior Sales experience and experience as a Trainer facilitating in-person and virtual training 
•    ASTD or other certifications in instructional design
•    Experience developing training solutions in a BOP environment with tools such as Inside Sales.com, SAP and/or Salesforce
