Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s IT Software and Systems Administration Teams support mainframe, Unix, Linux, and Windows based servers. This includes installation, configuration, ongoing maintenance and backup/recovery of physical and virtual servers. They monitor servers for performance and availability, and works with customers and vendors to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. TE’s IT Software and Systems Administration Teams analyze application requirements and recommend appropriate hardware configuration to meet requirements, install, configure, upgrade, monitor, troubleshoot technical systems software such as middleware, portal, e-mail, collaboration, unified communications, systems monitoring, trouble ticketing, software distribution, etc. They also evaluate new products, upgrade features and recommend toolset selection.


•    Defines, develops, documents, and communicates monitoring standards
•    Creates the monitoring and alerting system to provide real time monitoring while improving SLAs
•    Defines, develops, documents, and communicate automation standards
•    Build the foundation for event-driven automation that will simplify IT actions using manual steps or scripting
•    Collaborates and builds effective relationships across other TE infrastructure teams and external partners to develop the GISS strategy/roadmap for the monitoring and automation infrastructure 
•    Assists in determining which technical requirements can and should be automated and how these automated functions are integrated into the rest of the IT processes
•    Participates in vendor meetings to understand, choose, and implement new technologies that will provide benefit to TE while keeping minimizing cost
•    Often acts as the lead or key contributor for multiple projects running in parallel
•    Able to identify tasks and prioritize accordingly to deliver on short term and long-term activities
•    Provides training and mentorship to other professional employee on monitoring and automation technologies
•    Strong knowledge within the automation and scripting technologies, especially with Solarwinds, Avante, Ansible, Microsoft Powershell, Vmware PowerCLI, vROPs, ServiceNow, and Turbonomic
•    Strong knowledge across multiple technologies including HPE technologies (Synergy, Primera, Simplivity), NetApp, VMWare, Dell Compellent, Cisco UCS & FC Switches, Brocade, IBM servers & storage
•    Solid understanding of various supporting technologies including scripting/automation, storage, server, network, operating systems, and backup/recovery solutions.
•    Comfortable with working in a large, global, follow the sun support organization.


- Generally, requires bachelor’s degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Master’s degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred
